  • @JonNorCal916 i can tell that you probably have never even seen Fresno, except for when you drive by on the freeway and dont wanna stop because your afraid that you and your boyfriend will get your asses beat out here...lol.......thats alright, your still a valley girl that gets looked down on by frisco faggots and L.A. douchebags!

  • @JonNorCal916 gtfoh....youll never convince anyone that suckramento is much better than Fresno.....although i did take a good shit on one of your backroads of roseville and new castle area...lol...

  • @JonNorCal916 and your name is jonnorcal"916"...which means you live in suckramento...lol!!...tahts like oakland calling compton ghetto!!hahaha

  • Was this film shot at the MTM backlot in Los Angeles?

  • Im from Fresno & I was hoping this mini series would be bitingly good unfortunately it was worse than the series it was trying to make fun of. Sorry wasted excuse for entertainment. I wonder if my beloved city ever lived this embarrassment down?

  • get the fricking spick chip off your shoulder. i was talking about the stupid mayates and all the other trash of all kinds sitting on their asses smoking crack and meth , too lazy or stupid to get out of town for the day and take a drive to get out of the heat. good lord, when hispanics get an attitude they don't f around. i lived in an agricultural area and have done that kind of work and i have ancestors who left spain before some of yours ever heard of it, so dont give me that crap.

  • instead of complaining about how bad fresno is..why don't we change it and make it unique and wonderful...for starters we need to have a lot of educated people stay in fresno to make it more interesting and authentic instead of trying to be like somewhere else

  • fresno - desde quando voce se foi cover

    /watch?v=sjN3tZ92K04

  • fres-yes

  • I grew up in Fresno and I hated it here. Then Ieft, twice. I realized when I came back that Fresno isn't all that bad. I have good loyal friends here.

I guess the people who hate it here don't have any friends. They must live north of Shaw because the tower is one of the greatest neighborhoods in California. Those of you who hate it so much are just sad. I feel sorry for you. You can't make a go of it here so you trash it. I wish all of you who hate it so much would leave. YOU make it suck.

  • @TheTortadejamon Oh, I didn't know your lived in the tower area. I actually liked that portion of Fresno. The area as I remember it was more open and different than the rest of Fresno, which I actually enjoyed.

  • "Fresno......it's just like Detroit. It's awful!"

    Meg Whitman, Sept. 2010

  • @JonNorCal916 i hear ya! cant wait to move the fuck outta here.. its the armpit of california!

  • I remember this. I was only 6, but I do remember...In spite of the heavy drinking

  • This is the kind of thing TVLand should be showing instead of endless "Married With Children"/"Roseanne" marathons..

  • Gang members already failed in life, so they should be burned as fuel to propel our cars.

  • "Your momma's dead. Your momma's in an insame asylum. Your momma's right her. Now that we know where everybody's mamma is, maybe we can talk about something important. Like saving this ranch! Good God, you'd think this was Roots!"

    (Charles Grodin)

  • I remember watching this when it aired in the fall of 1986.

  • Fresno is the shittiest, ass backwards, most conservative, xenophobib town I have ever lived in. Fuck fresno. I hate it. And I hate the Bulldogs, they suck. With a capital S.

  • @Anaklondike I'm glad you are no longer here. We hate you too! Stay out of my hometown. Never set foot here again. It will suit us just fine. Jerk.

  • @TheTortadejamon Tell that to the other millions of people who think the way I do.

  • Yes it is as SUCKY as it seems can't wait to leave this godforsaken place!

  • I was born in El Paso, moved to Fresno when I was 1 yr, and now living in Las Cruces N.M. ( 40 min drive from El Paso) And I gotta say, " I can't wait to get back to Fresno!) And this film was showen once a year for 3 yrs. I heard a Co. in Canada owns the rights to the film and since it never "made it", they will prob never put it out on dvd..

  • @JonNorCal916 "CULTURE" lol back ass wards yup watever u int been so i dont think your in postion to talk just cuz we int gay like SFags or LostAss

  • I don't think "Fresno" fared as well in the ratings as CBS had hoped. Satirical comedy in a long-form mini-series format was a TV oddity then and now. Thinking audiences weren't sure how to react, they added laugh tracks and re-broadcast it at some point.

All I remember is the Kensington limo was always broken down so Carol Burnett's character got driven around in the rear-facing third row seat of a green station wagon! Hilarious!!!

  • You just made yourself look like a fool, again, Thanks for the laugh. So it seems you live in California that explains allot, and apparently you have only been interacting with the internet for 3-4 years. Hmmmm... perhaps a more to your liking insult "noob".

  • I see you don't like cities that want you to keep what you earn, profit from your sweat, or have some kind of moral compass. Just because you button your pants over your butt crack doesn't make the rest of the world backwards.

  • I am originally from Northern California and it is a lovely state. But we are no slouches in Texas. Your friends are in two of the biggest cities here. No wonder they don't like it. They like Austin? Now that city can be wacko though due to all the liberals residing there. And it is trying to be SF socially without the ocean view. Maybe Fresno is not your cup of tea because the people are real hardworking people there just like the rest of the Big Valley.

  • i'm a raisin cowboy

  • Although I have this on an old vhs tape, I am not a techie and have no idea or the equipment to put it on YouTube. Sorry.

  • I now live in Texas. And I use to live in California, Sacramento and Ripon, north of Modesto. Fresno is not a bad city. And you obviously have never been in Texas. We are not all sagebrush. This is one very diverse and beautiful state - as California.

  • Hmmm, maybe Beverly D'Angelo got her inspiration for Lurleen Lumpkin from Bobbi Jo Bobb?

  • i live in Fresno =P

  • *LOL* THANKS FOR SHARING :o) This show was/is amazing.

Does anyone know why they haven't released on dvd?

  • This is so awesome to know that this series existed now that I actually live in Fresno. This rocks!

  • @ecaftraf

I live in Clovis, but I've heard of it, I just thought it was a Spanish soap opera.

  • I taped it but lost the damn thing in a divorce in 2001. I'd love to see CBS release this on DVD, I'd even buy a bootleg on DVD (PM me!).

  • So did you see the old water tower in the opening shot, and the courthouse and the Del Webb (county offices)?? They extended the 180 gap past 99 and it goes all the way to Brawley and hooks up with the 180 westbound to Kerman with only one stoplight. The 41 and 180 interchange are murder @ 5PM and Fridays. The strawberrys are already being sold by the Hmong people..very yummy. I'm from Mendota and we throw ripe cantalopes at each other for fun..Things are changing tho..watch your mail for a vid.

  • Amen! I would l-o-v-e to own this on dvd. Heck, at this point a vhs would be better than nothing, but I've not found that available either. Even having the audio music/opening etc... tracks available would be too cool.

Anyone who might now how to locate any of the above, please visit my inbox!

Thanks, perry for putting this clip on!!!

  • The perfect spoof of all those great 80s soap operas!!!

  • I taped it during the original airing and found that I still have the tape. I will need to watch it again. It should be on dvd. It is one of the best comedies Carol and Dabney did!

  • I taped it too, when it was repeated the next spring or summer. One night of the reran version was delayed due to the crash of a United Airlines jet in Sioux City, IA. CBS broke in for extended coverage of the crash. It was a hoot of a mini-series, a spot-on spoof of Dallas, Falcon Crest and Dynastry.

  • @bjelkier any chance you would consider posting your fresno video here on you tube

  • I do so wish this would be released on DVD, it was a classic!!!

  • Same here...I would love to see a DVD of "Fresno".

  • Nice work. Looked for something on Fresno months ago and decided to check again just now. Too bad can't get the whole series on here. Funniest thing I've ever seen on TV!

  • Fresno Chat Room - Check It Out -

  • If you're talking about the city, I agree. This place sucks.

  • Fresno is the best!!

  • lol. im from fresno, represent!!! i have never even heard of this! hilarious.. and whats with the ghetto cowgirl singing? thats clovis, not fresno. lol

now i wanna watch the show!! hahahaha

  • Funniest mini series ever. So many jokes that were missed on the first look, so happy I videoed it back then (1989 over here in Australia..WITHOUT laugh tracks). Who can forget Carol Burnett's character taking a walk in the 'old' part of the garden.

  • Hows chances of getting it all on here?

  • I was obsessed with this movie as a kid. I taped it and watched it over and over. Wish I still had it...

"I didn't pay attention back then. I was busy... raisin' Cain!"

The girl fight between Talon (sp?) and Tiffany is awesome. : )

  • I never even know that ther was a show about my home town how cool:)

  • i would love 2 see this finny show again

  • 2:00 sums it all up. EVERYTHING.

  • I saw this show when it was on in 86 and loved it! I finally got to go to Fresno in 06 and found the place not as sucky as people told me it would be. It may not be Beverly Hills, but it beats the crap out of El Paso! What got me was when its 118 in town and 75 at Sequoia why do people sit and die of the heat? Get your butts in a frickin car and drive an hour and a bit and just park if nothing else. Love the city anyway, friendly people. Armenians almost outnumber Mexicans.

  • @nomadnametab OMG, SO MANY ARMENIANS!!! ugh

  • @nomadnametab we stay in fresno cause we need to work in the fields. There wouldn't be any food on your table without the people who work in 118 heat. This is the reason immigrants come to fresno for... There are jobs tailored to their experiences. When you lose your job in a professional setting, rest assured you should look no further than the fields of fresno for a job. The steady and weekly pay will get you back on your feet in no time.

  • ok they need to remake this for realz.

  • And this is why Fresno sucks so much.

  • One of my favorite series!

  • this is awesome in every way... what an all star cast! even dirty Bakersfield gets some love

  • Teri Garr is teh HAWT. Plus, funny.

  • I LOVED this miniseries! I have it all on videotape. Maybe I should convert it to dvd before the tape gets too old. Thanks for posting this!

  • I loved this mini-series when it was on tv. :D

  • "Fresno? Nobody goes to Fresno anymore!"

  • I do, once a year to visit family and also to get body piercings...

  • haha

what I wrote was a quote from the movie Airplane 2: The Sequel. The gay character Johnny says it as part of a rant about some dumb road trip he had had.

  • ahhh fresno.

  • haha! i have this recorded off tv on vhs years ago. watch it every year or two cuz its absolutely amazing and reminds me of why i dont miss that place (i have since moved to seattle).

  • GREAT SCOTT!!! I have been looking for FRESNO for YEARS!!!!

  • This was one of CBS's best miniseries and it's a shame it isn't on DVD.

  • Great! More theme please, end theme and theme 5 is the best...

  • My late, dear friend Mark Ganzel was one of the writers. A silly tribute to me was the character, Sgt. Chepikian. That's my last name. Had me read for the part. The director thought I changed my name to match the character. No, I didn't get the part. The director cast his friend and overruled the writer. Mark was an incredibly talented writer, comedian, improv artist and most of all, friend. He is missed by many in Hollywood. See you in reruns, Mark!

  • the title seems to insinuate that teh show is a little of falcon crest, dynasty, dallas

  • are you going to load the rest of the series?

  • Thank you for posting this

  • I love the main titles, so over the top ha ha! was'nt this a spoof of falcon crest and dynasty? thanks for uploading!

  • I know -isn't that a shame. She's always so great - I wish her well. Perhaps this will turn out to be some kind of good thing in the long run. Hang in there, Ter-we love you!!

  • I've been looking for this video for years - I hope to find the whole thing someday. Fresno was hilarious - the first showing had no laughtrack and I think that was best. Thank you for these 7 minutes anyway, it's great!

  • it was said last week(the week of october 18th of 2007) on either the insider or access hollywood that terri garr is suffering from multiple scerosis i think

  • i have them on dvd you can buy
