  • Can someone help me here?? I have an 07 charger and I want to use my stock deck but when the RCA and remote wires are coming from the amp, where do they go? Like how do I hook up RCA and remote to my stock dodge head unit??

  • whats the accessory wire?

  • ok what is this relay conversion thing your talking about ...im suppose to install a system in a 2007 chrysler 300...if i dont know what to do with the ground or and other wires ...how can i hook it up?

  • aye what color wire on a factory radio is for the remote on a 2003 grand prix because i used a orange wire and my amp stays on so i have to take the fuse out everytime i get out the car and what colors go together on my pac interface adapter it has grey black and white wires i only have one 12'sub thanks let me know

  • this dude is tripping he made this way too complicated...in the Chrysler the battery is already in the trunk so it doesnt make sense to put the fuse under the hood and then all you have to do is run the hi low converter to the back speakers.

  • @mgray184

    read description info

  • @phamsihung But how did you get your signals from you factory radio?

Because i only want a amp for a couple of subwoofer's not my speakers

But whitch cable do i need?

  • @mgray184 Yeah he did , you are correct bro . thumb up !

  • someone respond to this please. When he hooks the LOC up to the rear speakers does tap into them? or do the speakers not work from running wires straight to LOC. thanks.

  • @kyleeisenbarger

    tap into them

  • Were do u hook up the damn rca's?????

  • @mrbigjem87 The RCAs were run from the back speakers, then bridged into the amplifier...

  • @mrbigjem87 to the hi low converter ran from the rear speakers to the amp

  • @phoenixAZ011 positive

  • how can i remove the door speakers of this car without damaging the door? i tried but i cant seem to find anyway

  • I hooked up 4 12s in my brother inlaws srt8 and pretty much everything is in the trunk except the ignition wire. Saved a lot of cables especially when I hooked up 2 more batts for the 1000/1 jl amp and 4 w6 12s.

  • I just installed my Amp. in the trunk just like this guy but I used the battery terminal that is right in the trunk next to the spare tire. No need to do all of that extra work running a wire through the firewall of the car through the glove box. Also for the remote switch for the Amp. I tapped into the cigarette lighter power that's located in the ashtray. It comes on only when the ignition is turned on. The cigarette lighter in the center console has constant power, so don't use that one.

  • Hey guys i installed my own subs into my 300 srt8.. some tips is, use the battery in your trunk (Duhh), 2. you can hook up your remote cable into your ignition fuse (it will be label IGN) (its the fuse box in the trunk).. if anyone needs help you can message me

  • @vinnnnnnnnyyyyyyyy good tip...thanks man!

  • @vinnnnnnnnyyyyyyyy hi what do you mean you can hook your remote cable to your ignition how do ou know what wire to use as remote in the trunk fuse box and what di you use for rca to su box

  • @metallica5827 in the fuse box i the trunk there is a fuse with IGN next to it, if youre installing your a amp in the trunk you can just use it for a ign wire

  • @vinnnnnnnnyyyyyyyy

Thanks for posting this! way more important than anything in this video lol.

  • were did you wire you RCA cables too, ?

  • how come you didn't just use the battery in the trunk?

  • @blackicerhythms

please read description box or other comments

  • Thanks man!

  • You should never hook anything directly in to the SKIM unit on the Chrysler cars and trucks as you would mess with the Can-Bus Voltages when you have your system running. If you hooked it to the pink wire like you say I bet you had some issues with the car starting. Axxess Interface makes the correct adaptor to give you all of the connections you need to install an aftermarket amp to your system.

This is the part number #Axxess - CHRY-AMP-03 google it.

  • @Accordian85 , no, i didn't have a problem, but thanks for the info. you mean the current draw would effect the can-bus, not voltage. the potential is still the same when i tap into it, i'm not sure what the relay draw is on the amp that keeps the amp on, it might be really low, but who knows. every amp is different

  • do u hook up speaker wire to LOC or just LOC + rear speakers n have speakers going to the factory deck

  • @INSANEFREAK1

you need to amplify it, from deck, to loc, to amp, then amp to sub

  • i love looking at my gorgeous car and your looks beautiful thumbs up if you love the Chrysler 300

  • the power cable needs to be always with the fuse during installation? it should be remove before putting again the negative cable of the battery? and how much amp fuse is what I need? It should be like if the amplifier is 60 amp (2 of 30 amps) my fuse on the power cable should be 60 amp? Please advise someone.

  • @Chrisjaldin yes use a 60 amp, and don't put the fuse in until everything else is connected

  • where did you connect your rca's and remote wire to

  • @Rahkeem1995

    read description at side

  • I'm very impressed with your 300. Good job.

  • Fukk, shit!!!!

  • i just use the pre made ground

  • Nice Install....Nice 300 Too.

  • I wish you could do this for me :'(

  • This vid is very help full but how bout if 300 dosent come with premium sound or steering wheel controls is there still a factory amp so I could run my RCA thanks ur help is appreciated

  • does it matter what type of speaker wire you us from your sub to your amp

  • Lady Gaga say's sex al ova LOL and i fink she is really nice. But these a rumor that she is a man plz help me - - - Naked Lady Gaga. C0000M - -

  • great vid, that def. helps!!!

  • You need strippers... lol

  • well no matter what anyone say this was the only video i could find..it works good..i will take a look at the 12 volt fuse spot to run the remote to now..but you helped me a great deal..i did use the bat in the trunck..

  • hey dude thanks this video came in handy after all when i put amps in my 300 i did aint brake no panels like a usually do lol no can you do one on how to remove door panels

  • IDK, what you're talking about to that other dude, but it works ALL the TIME.

If you're swapping the factory deck for a new one thats the only time I suggest you run new RCAs from the deck sub out to the amp so you have better control than using a HI/LO

  • IN the trunk if you lift up by the spare, there is the battery, just run it from there... in the fuse box.. there is a 12Volt accessory fuse that you can place the remote wire under and its a lot cleaner. Also you can run a HI/LO conversion from the factory Boston "sub" you can tap into those wires with the HI/LO and plug that into your sub.

YOu created more work for yourself..

  • hey bud, nice video, i will be installing a JL Audio Sub n AMP this SAT. ur video def. helped me understand how take the panals out etc. i have a 06 300 Limited w/ same audio options Boston Acoustic 6 CD changer. and i am keeping my stereo for the same reason cuz it has steering mounted controls.

  • 40,000 watts.yea rite.grow up.kicker ain't nowhere near that good.nice setup bro.

  • hey i just bought an 05. is there anyway to install a new deck and keep the steering wheel controls. if not is there anyway to hook up an ipod with out usin those shity fm transmitters

  • Do you live in Canada?

  • @4663GA ur so slw

  • Comment removed

  • @thequaiyim How am I slow???

  • @4663GA his tag clearly says ONTARIO

  • @thequaiyim Ok I knew that but I still wanted to ask the question!!!!!

  • @4663GA dumb ahh

  • what did you hook the remote wire up to?

  • wow what a waste of wire and time running it from under the hood and not just from the ruck were the battery is at still a clean job done

  • @drivebye13 read description on side

  • @drivebye13 read description on side

  • why did he run the 12v from under the hood the battery is in the trunk there also a remote wire in the trunk,,, if you buy an amp the high speaker inputs it super easy

  • how did connect the subs to one output on the amp?

  • in parallel

  • geek squad auto tech here...must say from installer to installer thats a clean job there i think relay's are more professional, just a personal opinion, but either way works great job man!

  • thank you

  • nice car i wanna drive it

  • Nice video, :)

    Thank you for posting it.

  • bad ass job and bad ass ride dude

  • u need strippers!!!

  • hey how did you connect the remote wire

  • hey good for you,

  • @TSJMclanteamps3 yoo lets see some videos of your hummer.

  • !tsjmclanteamps3......wtf get a life kid !!put a video if u hane it! and quit hatin!

  • ok some people dont want crazy bass set ups..

    but clean install phamsihung

  • @TSJMclanteamps3 H2 are for fags

  • america hates you to fucken hippy

  • Why did you hook the power supply up front when the battery is in the trunk already. That method is used for batteries that are installed in the front of the vehicle. That was a waste of wire. also you can get the ground from the truck also, therefore you wont get much ground noise from the amp. Think about it.

  • please read the past posts and the description on the side.

  • So i can just buy an On/Off switch and hook that up for the amp signal instead of messing with the accessory circuit, right?

  • What exactly is an accessory circuit?

  • Accessory or ignition circuit goes hot when the key is turned and by hot, I mean get's 12V+ power. These circuits are not meant to really run a load just to signal on components, hence why amps use this circuit as a 'switch' but still require a direct battery line.

  • @bullzisnipr3 bingo! you explained that perfectly

  • I've done a few installs ;)

    Great vid btw!

  • good instructional video... thanks

  • could you help with the fire wall thingy I still dont know how to get the power to the interior

  • for this vehicle if you're having problems, go to the battery that's located in the trunk, it's easier that way too

  • well what number fuse did you connect it to or recommend

  • really depends on your amp, add up all the fuse size ratings that's on the side of your amp, and use the sum of those fuse ratings

  • my amp wont turn off could some one help me i did the following except mines in the trunk

  • make sure you have the right source for the remote wire, if it's constant 12V, your amp will stay on even when your car is off

  • did you install any sort of sub control?

  • there's no sub control, the person who owns the vehicle did not have one that i could install

  • hey i saw that empty spot in the back and u said ifs for the factory subwoofer. so what do i need to hook one up there ?

  • you don't need to hook up anything there,

  • so didnt you say theres a spot for a sub?? can i hook one up there?

  • good job!

  • Hey bro do you have to take out the radio to get to the RCA's?

  • no, use the SLOC to tap into the speaker outputs located in the trunk

  • ok but what about the remote??!

  • sorry for the late reply, the remote wire is shown in the video, it should connect to your accessory wire or to a switched power source at the fuze box located by the battery in the trunk on the passenger side

  • hit me up if you feel like chatting some more. you seem nice and i wanna meet some hot men.

i especially like strong dark men, and boys! LOL!!!

  • i did everything but could you explain how you actually hooked up the converter please?

  • white wires is for Right side speaker, Gray is for left side Speaker.

  • Do not use this install as a guide. This guy has no knowledge of anything whatsoever. He says that his excuse is he never worked on a 300 before. Common sense would tell you to look for the battery. You can also get an ignition source from the fuse box in the trunk next to the battery. This install on a 300 should take no more than an hour to finish. Always read the amps manual to see if it is able to be bridged. The power wire is way to small for that amp. DO NOT FOLLOW THIS HOW TO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yeah, my excuse is that i have never worked on a 300, that's why i put a post up saying that the power could be connected from the trunk, read the description, this install doesn't take more than an hour. can you calculate something for me if you understand the theory of electronics? 400 rms needs what size fuse rating and why?

  • It's not the size of the fuse dude. The size of the wire is what matters. You are using some skinny cable to run that amp. The size of the fuse determines how quick it blows when there is a short or over amperage.

  • umm, i agree that the fuze blows over amperage, but any short will blow any size fuse, so it doesn't matter on fuse size if you're using it to protect against shorts. the size of the fuse that is manufactured to come with the amp kit determines the size of wire as well, 60 amp fuses are used on those 8 guage wires, letting the system be able to handle 800 watt max. P/E = I , E being 14.4 volts (for most cars when it's running) and P being 800 watt max (amp i'm using) . So I = 55.55 amps

  • you could always use bigger gauge wire for more juice, but sometimes it's not always about the power, it's the engineering behind it.

  • So what you are saying is that it is ok to run say an 80 amp fuse on 8 gauge wire? So lets say that wire is pulling 80 amps or say 79 constantly. Will that small 8 gauge wire get so hot that it acts as a fuse itself and melts the insulation and cause damage to the car? If you are running that size of fuse for a 600 watt amp the wire to use is 4 gauge.

  • no, i'm not saying it's ok to run a 80 amp fuse into it, what i'm saying is that the manufacturer of the amp kits already calculated what size fuse to use with that wiring kit, that amp is only a 400 rms amp, meaning it draws less that 60 amps total. so that's why that wiring kit is fine, any more than 400 rms would mean that it would need a larger gauge kit with the right fuse rating

  • Bottom line is you are clearly amateur so don't try to act like what you are doing is equivalent to what a professional does.

  • hahaha, that's funny, i'm acting? i'm giving you mathematical explainations and theories to prove my debate, meanwhile all you can say is that? i'm not even going to delete this thread, i want everyone to read this. it's pointless debating with you when you have no theory and math to prove what you say

  • Why do I need math to prove that you do crappy wiring? Why do I need math to prove that you have no common sense to find the battery in a car? You seem to know where the factory amp is but the battery seems to confuse you. Just face it you are less than amateur. ONCE AGAIN DO NOT FOLLOW THIS GUIDE BECAUSE IT LEADS NOWHERE.

  • If I was the owner of that car I would be embarrassed to know that everyone on youtube knows the "installer" made some bone head moves and wasted alot of time when EVERYTHING could have been done in the trunk with minimal wiring.

  • that's funny, "it leads to nowhere", yeah sure there buddy, it doesn't work if i install it this way? even if i post the note on the side saying that the power could be done from the trunk, you're still ignorant enough to keep using that against me. and as for the wire sizes, you have no theory behind what you're saying, the math that i provided to you probably confused you too. let's see if anyone here says that i'm wrong with my equation. it's ok to be wrong mustangsammy95, just chill out.

  • I never said the equation was wrong. The equation is all you use to back yourself up. When It comes to the actual work and wiring you are very amateur. Its ok that you don't know what the hell you are doing. Just don't try to come off as a pro when you are far from it. I'm sure you have done a few installs and thats fine but don't try to use your shadetree techniques as teaching tools. You didn't do any homework on the car cause if you did you would have known that the battery was in the trunk

  • that's all you can claim, is looping back to the story about the battery in the trunk. maybe the description on the side should clearify it, but i guess you just ignored it and continued to talk about it. you have no idea how many installs i have done, and there's no point in trying to prove what i have done and how many i cars i have worked on. no one here will believe it anyways. i'll post up my own car and show what i have done to it. maybe then you won't under estimate me.

  • You are never ever supposed to run ur remote and power on the same side. It emits a wierd frequency that can interfere with your sounds quality. Just a tip for next time. RCA/REMOTE on one side and power on the other. Ground doesnt matter as long there is a clean connection between the metals.

  • i don't think so, remote wire emits DC voltage while RCA's emit AC sound wave signals, the only reason why there's a frequency interference if you run RCA's and power wires close together is because of the magnetic flux that the power wire emits, remote wire is also DC just like power wire, you're suppose to run RCA separately from all DC power sources

  • also, many people run RCA's and Remote wires on the same side because the remote signal isn't strong enough to interfere with the RCA's signal, having shielded RCA pairs also help reduce the whining sound if there is an interference

  • The sub are MTX X1004 ?

Are you planing to put a new video about installing an AMP into Honda civic ? Haha...

  • yeah, i think they're the old style 1004's, if a civic comes my way, for sure i'll post the install on here. thanks for watching

  • by the way.. what kind off amp should i get. i have the same boston acoustic system

  • the boston acoustic factory premium sound system doesn't have anything to do with your after market amp choice. i know that MTX amps have what they call "Smart Engage": it uses the audio signal to turn the amp on instead of using a remote wire to trigger it on. so this means you won't have to tap into the ignition wire. you wouldn't even need a LOC to do the install either, just use the back speaker wires for high level, it's a cool feature on the MTX amp for factory installs

  • if you get a chance to do another 300 please post a vid.. like just take off all the paneling and then like just show me step by step how to do this

  • is that a 300c or the 300? If its the 300 is the interior custom?

  • nothing is custom on it, everything is just factory

  • its not the c... look how small that engine is.. ill post a vid in aout a day and show you the size of a hemi engine

  • hi, i didnt quite get how u installed the remote wire, is there an easier way to do it, like from the stereo, or some other place? thanks for you video it really helpd.

  • there isn't a remote or accessory wire from the radio. not from this kind of car anyways. the ignition wire is probably the easiest way to do it, unless someone else here has an easier way.

  • Wher did you get your remote wire coneccted to im lost lol please help

  • take apart the panel that is below the stearing wheel. and then follow the ignition (key hole) there should be a small harness there, and there should be a pink/white wire in that harness

  • watch part 3:19

  • ey bro im not trying to talk shit or anything but..getting ur remote wire was a whole unessesary process that u did,u could of just gone to ur fuse box in ur trunk n runned a small wire in the ign fuse wich by the way is labled,i believe its a #10...forget all he pannel bs its unecessary

  • thanks, it's already been discussed in the previous comments, and in the discription box

  • im buying the amp from my friend he said and he had 2 800's on it

  • really depends on the kind of amp, and the rms values of it. if it's a two channel, then you can most likely bridge the amp to get twice the power to that pioneer sub. if your amp is under at under 500rms, then you can go with an 8 gauge wiring kit. if the amp is above 500 rms, then you need to get a 4 gauge kit. they normally will give you an inline fuse with a rating of 150 amps. plus, it'll let you run split the wiring later on if you decide to go with additional amplifiers

  • oh yeah, check the amp too, read the fuses on it, if there are two fuses on it, add the values together, so there's two 25 amp fuses on there, 50 amps total, now take that number and multiply it by 10. you'll get the number 500. so 500 would be the amp's RMS value, that's true wattage of the amp. it's just a simple rule of thumb.

  • i just bought a 10'' pioneer subwoofer 1000 watts peak,350 RMS,What kind of wiring should i buy for my amp.

  • how strong is your amp Rms wise?

  • Weird, it's a 2007 model and yet the factory radio still includes a tape deck. Hopefully, the 2010 models will include an 8-track.

  • hey I was wondering if you knew when you install a 4 channel amp to the speakers do the speakers still need to be connected to the deck?

  • this complicated, with this one, the factory radio system is a premium system, i wouldn't recommend throwing in a 4 channel amp unless you don't want to keep the factory radio. for a factory radio, you'll have to connect your speakers to the 4 channel amp, then you'll have to do high level converters from the factory amp, or run new speaker wires from the factory amp to the new 4 channel amp which has a plug labelled 'high level input', it's costly, the converters are like 40 each, you'll need 2

  • Okay I am sorry, but why the heck did you hook the power cable to the jumper posts in the front of the car????? The battery is in the trunk next to the spare tire on 05-08 300's.. you could of saved yourself an hour and 15 feet of power cable. .. Time to edit your video!!

  • hey, it's alright, you should read the comments below, someone else also mentioned it, i also said that i have never worked on a crysler 300, went into it knowing nothing besides the wire codes. p.s. it doesn't take an hour to run that power cable through the firewall, took me 15 mins. but saving time is still good. i don't own the car, so there's no way i could re do this

  • uh why didn't you just use the battery in the trunk?

  • Is your name Tay?

  • sorry it's not

  • lol my amp started to smoke up so i quickly unpluged everything. i think im going to buy a new amp this weekend.

  • thanks i think im going to try that rite now. do you think my amp will work since it sparked up into smoke? lol i have a single 10 inch sub with a 400 watt mtx amp.

  • if it sparked from the inside, the worse thing that could happen is the fuse blowing, i'd still try it anyways to see what happens for fun, haha, but that's my take on it, i've installed broken amps before and nothing really happens, maybe the fuse blowing, and that's it. your amp isn't too powerful anyways. you run mtx equipment too? nice stuff

  • hi is there a order in which wires to hook up first cause my amp poped and a smoke came out right when i screwed down the remote wire.

  • yes there is, i'm sorry i didn't mention it in the video, but next time i'll make a video all about this... whenever you hook up amps, make sure the fuse is out of it's holder. make sure the head unit isn't on. connect the ground, then power (even though there's no source yet), then remote and finally the RCA's.. after that put the fuse back in

  • where did you learn all this??

  • it's funny, but most of the cars i work on, i research on the net first, then i go in and do it... all from experience pretty much. and a lot of these cars i have never worked on, this is actually my first time working on a chrysler 300. an installer taught me most of the concepts of car audio, and i went to school for electronics. so the electrical stuff i'm ok with, but the rest is from experience and playing around

  • Great job, but why not connrct to the battery terminal located in the trunk next to the spare tire?

  • you know what? i didn't even look there! lol! this is my first time working on a 300. i'm so use to doing it the old fashioned way: straight to the battery. but i'll definitely keep that in mind if i work on another 300. thanks!

  • LOL...yeah, the actual battery is in the trunk. There is a fuse box there as well that you can connect to to make it an ultra clean install.

BTW, great work on your step by step directions.

  • thank you! i watched the video again, and realized that i didn't go straight to the battery, how embarassing!, lol, thanks for the comments though

  • cool
