Just throwing a point in, you said once the child has its own immune system. Human immune systems are not completely developed until about age six. What is the arbitrary limit of breastfeeding before it gets 'weird?' I guess there are a few cut off points. IMO everyone supports it up til 6 months, then at age 12 months, 18 months, 24 then 36 the support dwindles.

I agree. I think breast feeding is important. However, at a certain point it no longer benefits the child. It becomes more about the mother not wanting to give up that special bond. If they continue too long then imo they actually start risking harm to the child. Just my opinion of course. However, I will say that at age 47 I still have a large number of vivid memories from about age 7 or 8. I can't imagine how messed up I would be if some of those memories were of breastfeeding...

Of course that lady can do whatever she wants, she can let her girls draw her bobs, and touch them every morning when she is trying to get dressed, and drink from her breasts till they're 18... they are other ways to bond with your child, it's a little weird.
