@b3ava Actually these cars are extremely close to each other performance-wise. Also their 0-60 and 1/4 miles are very close, but with slight advantage to the Z06 (thanks to it's much bigger 7L v8) compared to the most Gallardo's.
If you were a betting man, you'd be wise to put your money on the C6 Z06. The Z06 is on a completely different league compared to the standard C6 - a common mistake.
@yeffrai buy a corvette zr1 for 110 thousand bucks and spend 190 thousand more to make a monster even more montrous compared to buying a overpriced murcielago for 300 grand. I'd take the Vette over the lambo any day.

The Gallardo is and it's a car that doesn't require frequent unlike some other exotics. For $70k - $80k you can find a used Gallardo '04- '06 in excellent condition. Any Lambo owner can tell you that. Remember the depriciation of a car takes effect once it's off the lot. I'll take the Gallardo please.

Why is everyone amazed that a corvette ZO6 is faster than a lambo...its a gallardo with 500 hp vs a vette with 505 hp which is lighter.....the lambo is AWD its only chance is starting from a dead stop and it would still get beat in the quarter mile. If you took the average enthusiast driver to the nurburgring, let them go around first in a Zr1, then have them go around in a GtR. American cars are fast in straight a way but put them in a real track and they can't handle as well ass their European counterparts. I like American Muscle but I recognize we aren't the most prestigious when it comes to automobiles, and at the end of the day if money was not a problem I would pick Lamborghini, Porsche, Aston Martin over a corvette, viper or ford gt.

Why is everyone amazed that a corvette ZO6 is faster than a lambo...its a gallardo with 500 hp vs a vette with 505 hp which is lighter.....the lambo is AWD its only chance is starting from a dead stop and it would still get beat in the quarter mile. Don't blame it on the shifting the ZO6 vette is just fast. and look up some numbers the vette will beat the gallardo on the track too :)

If you took the average enthusiast driver to the nurburgring, let them go around first in a Zr1, then have them go around in a GtR. I'd bet money that the GtR time would be faster, even though the zr1 is the faster car. The corvette is a blunt instrument. Blunt instruments can be alot of fun though!!!

@bliglum Controlling 640 HP in a RWD car requires a more delicate right foot than 475 HP in an AWD. It's not that the ZR1 that's unrefinement; it's the driver. If it's a 'blunt instrument', it'd be a 3 section staff: devastating in the hands of an expert, but a novice could hurt themselves.
