This all seems a little silly to me. A porche is good at what it`s designed to do. And a Boeing 747 is good at what it is designed to do. Race any decent car against a 747 from one end of a runway to the other and the car will get there first. Try a race between the porshe and the 747 from London to Moscow..... er !

Actually the plane can win if only the distance is further.. If the Distance is further, the plane will pick up all the momentum to take off. It can take off at 500km/h.

And what is your point? A majority of airlines still have the older models, and it doesn't really change much. The only major differences are in the range they can travel, the fuel economy they can get (from winglets), and the glass cockpits.

Maybe they can't perform to the exact point of brand-new condition, but they stay pretty close. The lack of the moving parts its in the turbo rotary engine keep from parts deteriorating at a high rate. Also the amount of maintenance that these jets go through day to day keep them running pretty well.

The same can go for cars, if a car is well maintained they can run and last for a very long time; the same goes for planes.

This is nothing compared to the show Top Gear. They did the same race between a jet fighter and a nearly two million dollar car ; EuroFighter Typhoon VS Bugatti Veyron. Both vehicles had to do a lap around the runway, except the jet fighter had to fly straight up then come back down after it takes off. THAT'S MORE EXOTIC. Just my opinion =)

A Porsche has a better acceleration but if the Boeing stayed on the ground eventually the plane would win. A Boeing 747 can fly way faster than 600 km/h, the Porsche just can't run that fast.
