Then he produces the bottle which had lain there all the time with another ring in it. He crashes it, takes the fake ring up, and gives the original one back to her. That's all.

magic or not that trick is a bit more elaborate to explain then he passed it off to someone who is still with him in the crowd and they ran over to the trick bottle slipped it in and ran back in time to still be there when he tried to move the metal grate.
