That not a MiG. That's F-15. That's an ACES II ejection system. You can also see the F-15's magnetic compass that is typical of this aircraft. MiG-21 cockpit it's not like that. Good try... Now try again.
@preazinhosindanight Yes... the planes filmed outside are MiGs, but the inside footage in cockpit is from a F-15, either B or E. That's an ACEII ejection seat. I am not the only to say that, please see other replies.

So I'm going to go with a drone hauling something to make it look larger that weights very little and has very little air friction. By the way, that's a Martin-Baker ACES II ejection seat, and the plane is F-15E/J. For a two-seater MiG-21 (which, By The Way, were solely trainers and wouldn't participate in an interception sortie) are known as MiG-21-U/US/UM, and their seats are designated KM-1. They look *nothing* like seen here. Also, you really can't see out much from the rear cockpit of a MiG-21-U. It needs a periscope for forward vision.

The object looks very like the Lockheed D-21 reconnaissance drone which had a speed of Mach 3+. It first flew in 1964 so by this stage there was the technology there to make somthing like this...this could be an advanced derivative of the D-21

@preazinhosindanight Yes... the planes filmed outside are MiGs, but the inside footage in cockpit is from a F-15, either B or E. That's an ACEII ejection seat. I am not the only to say that, please see other replies.

@rayne7echo The aircraft that is filming from the cockpit is an ACES II Ejection Seat, which is used in the F-15 and F-16. The MiG-21 uses the KM-1 ejection seat, which does not have side rails or head winglets like the one featured in this video. The KM-1 has an OBF computer mounted in the back of the head of the seat, which is not seen here. Also the MiG-21s triple phase framed canopy sits five inches higher aspect to the F-15. This video shows a low aspect single phase F-15 frame.

Anyone who’s flown in the rear cockpit of an F-15B Eagle would know, first-hand, what an ACES II ejection seat looks like – especially what the front seat looks like viewed from the rear cockpit. Having seen a Mig 21 cockpit up close, the ejection seat shown in the video is not that of a Mig 21, but does bear a striking resemblance to an ACES II ejection seat. Even if video’d from a two-seat Mig 21, the image obtained would look very different than that shown due to cockpit differences.

Ok, my fairly ..professional comments (having a physics BS save thermal and having studied and build optical devices of many kinds etc.) ... 1) You can't resolve anything...as usual. Thus it could be some optical interference effect. In fact the camera's angle with the sun, as you'll notice, is following with a typical movement of the pattern. 2) If it really *is* something they got on radar and not a dis-info-spoof they fab'd, then I'd say it's a drone we mfg. hauling foil to distract them.

@sounddoctorin Well viewing again...I'm not so sure on 1). There seems to be a fairly sharp acceleration at one angle. It'd be a strange lens to produce that probably. So I'm going to go with a drone hauling something to make it look larger that weights very little and has very little air friction. It's a very *possible* tactic people might have used to distract and confuse the Ruskys and cause them to spend a lot on technology that would go nowhere. A remote control missile possibly.

If it was some specially designed very light craft w/short take off booster... First it wasn't going from zero... Maybe accelerated 1600mph though in 10 seconds...that's 160mi/hour/sec. Give me the budget and you BET I can design something that would accelerate at that rate temporarily. DRAGSTER w/ PERSON IN IT goes 100mph in .8 some seconds.

By the way, that's a Martin-Baker ACES II ejection seat, and the plane is F-15E/J. For a two-seater MiG-21 (which, By The Way, were solely trainers and wouldn't participate in an interception sortie) are known as MiG-21-U/US/UM, and their seats are designated KM-1. They look *nothing* like seen here. Also, you really can't see out much from the rear cockpit of a MiG-21-U. It needs a periscope for forward vision.
This video is so badly fabricated it seems like an intentional trap.

The object looks very like the Lockheed D-21 reconnaissance drone which had a speed of Mach 3+. It first flew in 1964 so by this stage there was the technology there to make somthing like this...this could be an advanced derivative of the D-21
