Did you read "Ten Acres Enough"? He pointed out that a lot of those migratory birds that are shot by farmers are found with stomachs full of insects. His contention was that the losses of fruit of small grains was small price for the volume of insects they suppressed.

Good idea on integrating the Chicken Coop roof as real estate for solar panels, and the 5 gallon buckets as nets boxes was an inspired bit of frugality. Cheers

what you have never read the bible? Goat is kind of like a deer that has been raised on grain and cross with a lamb, Quite yummy if ya kill them befor they are a year old and make sure ther castrated at least 45 days before slaughter to get most of the testostrone out of there system

@JoesBackPack Goat is one of the best meats I have ever eaten. I had it alot when I was a kid and a few times in the middle east. It is an easy meat animal to raise and there is not much fat on them.

what do you mean? in storage or in use? In storage with stablizer added it could be a few years, but instead I rotate it. I fill the truck out of the barrel and buy more from the station to refill the barrel keeping the fuel fresh. In use my car would go 1950 miles on that much but the pick up would only go 660 miles or run the generator for 7 days
