"Garfield in Paradise" was one of my first memories, it's been over 25 years. I used to have this recorded on a VHS tape that weighed like 5 pounds (they were built like a tank in those days). That same tape had "Snoopy's Getting Married" recorded right afterward, but I'm just curious as to whether or not these two specials aired around the same time in 1986 if anyone knows.

@draco1811 Wow! How about that? Years back (around 1991) I taped over it without realizing the sentimental value it would have later on. Same thing goes for many other VHS tapes I used to own :(

@WebsterJake Tell me about it. I am always on the lookout for a reasonably priced VHS/ DVD converter, or something that will let me transfer all the golden oldies(so to speak) and not worry about my poor old vcr breaking down. I have one video which includes my childhood trifecta: Legend, The Neverending Story, and Labyrinth. I refuse to go to Wal-Mart and shell out for them, even if they do only cost 5 buck apiece.

@draco1811 I've got an SV2000 DVD recorder set up here at home & managed to transfer VHS to DVD ('07 - '08, little at a time). But you have to do everything in real time. At least now the DVDs take up 1/10 the space - although I kept the really vintage VHS tapes from my childhood (SKC, Supercolor, Beridox, Dynamicron, etc).

One more thing...much to my dismay, Garfield in Paradise wasn't broadcast back to back with Snoopy's Getting Married in '86. Instead it was Flashbeagle - TV Guide says so :(

@draco1811 ...Flashbeagle was another classic. I was maybe 2 -3 years old when I first saw Snoopy cut the rug on "It's Your 20th Television Anniversary, Charlie Brown".
