Rundas really was the most likeable character throughout the metroid series besides samus he was so nice and kind and helpful and very cool. He had very good manners towards samus and seemed to have and really cared for samus. In that respect the challenge to beating Rundas is wanting not to kill him cause he is a very close personal friend but you have to fight back and put rundas out of his misery btw I thought at the death of rundas I think it was a sign that rundas

First you see Dark samus flash forth from his helmet before the fight then afterwards Rundas looks around completely unaware of what happened then he reaches out his hand for samus the he gets impaled multiple times by Ice. Soon after Dark samus emerges from his body and absorbs him. I just played this part in the game.

@DarthDialga Yeah I think that Rundas killed those two Pirates who tried to kill Samus before he arrived on purpose, trying to save Samus. He liked her too much to want to kill her. And he was forced to do so by Dark Sammy. Rundas saw those two Pirates heading for Samus and was like 'You're not having my bitch!' and then Dark Samus forced him to kill his friend and he was like 'What the fuck?'

@dandan3647 Well yeah, apparently there is an error at the end where Phazon is still flowing in Samus' cannon, even though Samus destroyed all the Phazon in existence. Then, at the end when she leaves Elysia, you see a gunship of its own accord following her.

They never explain whose gunship it is, but I reckon... It looks a lot like Sylux's...

I, too, was introduced to the series via Prime, but I thought the other titles (Other M aside) were just as good, albeit for different reasons. Also, while the trilogy is officially closed, Retro have discussed the possibilities of developing another side-title on DS... And I wouldn't be surprised to see Retro coming back to work on other, non-Prime Metroid titles in the future.

Cause of event: Samus enters Bryyo, is attacked by Space Pirates. Rundas kills all Pirates and initiates his own fight with Samus.

Commanders: Rundas/Dark Samus/Samus Aran

Outcome: Dark Samus, possessing Rundas, forces him to kill his old friend Samus. A short but brutal battle ensues and Samus quickly gains the upper hand using her Phazon, but towards the end Rundas rejects the possession of Dark Samus by impaling himself on a pillar of ice

Thinking about it, he and Ghor are 2 of the few charaters who acctually do something useful, Ghor takes down a bezerker, which would have been difficult for you in that enclosed space and rundas not only starts a generator, but saves you. Gandradya just undoes all of samuses work of maintaining the tough, bounty huntress idea (reember this is before other M) and kills a few pirates, which you could have easily done yourself.

and I agree Rundas for SSBB4 and I hope you get your own game someday
