that's right. perhaps they live a little longer if you use 6V - perhaps ;-) i am now working on a new hexapod with 38 Servos, and i am wont use these MG-995 again. not at 4,8 - 6 oder 7,4V :)
@meckpommer that's weird. I used the MG995 on my hexapod too and never had a problem. one of them had to be replaced after the hexapod itself pulled the power supply voltage knob and got it up to 13V, but that's all.
Na ja, es werden halt immer mehr Stunden, da mein Bot noch lange nicht fertig ist ... derzeit ist Part 11 bzw. 11b der aktuelle Stand, und ich denke, ich habe mittlerweile so ca. 50% fertig ;-)
I built a true 8 leg bot with IR camera. The range is 1000 feet but hope to boost it to 2000 feet soon. I divided the eletronic tray and put 4 axis cervos in with some mod's to make it more insect like, I will post vid soon.
and i am even more impressed. you know im looking to build something like that. any way you can help me out? where do you get all that stuff? and i assume yours is autonomous but how hard would it be to control it via joystick? how do you program stuff like that? im looking to build a miniature 6 legged bot with a rotating cockpit and turret. thiss stuff fascinates me. thanks for uploading vids!
btw ... your bot is much nicer than mine ... but i hope that my next version of marvin is as beautiful as your bot b4 your bot is able to calculate alle its stuff onboard, so ...
don't hurry up :-))))
Greetings from germany 4u and your wonderful hexapod!
Hey, can you tell me did you supply the MG995 directly with from a 7.4V li-po? Also, great robot!

Great job!!! Great work! Can you tell me the useful angle of MG995???
Thanks

Hmm that would be difficult because I,am already working on it right now.
But i understand you hookt them directly on the battery so you didn't convert it to 6V?

Hi
I'am working on a hexapod with 18 mg995's too.
But how did you supply them all?
And what kind of battery are you using?
thanks
tt01racer 1 year ago
The MG995 are specified to work with a 2S LiPo with 7,4V.
If you can, don't use the MG955! During the last 12 months, i had to replace 40% of them :-(

danielpotter19912 3 years ago
money? i thing, it's been more than 1000 Euros, cause i've rebuild a lot of modules 2 or 3 times.
I started 2 years ago with marvin after some "trainig"-stuff.

Now all you gotta do is add a long arm to it, a platform, and then program it to deliver you beers from the fridge!
