Ahh we used to play this game back in the late 80s, but we could never find the Air Castle even though we had the crystal or whatever was needed. Nice to finally see what we have missed all those years.

lol, I think the axe sucked so much in this is you weren't leveled up enough. It always seemed to hit hard when I used it. THen again I haven't played this game in ages so my memory might be fuzzy.

The Axe / Sword is awesome, especially if you use "Help" on Odin and Alis. It doubles their Atk attribute which in turn quadruples their actual damage. Odin pretty much 2-shot any regular mob while affected by "Help".

I loved the laconian axe. The projectile weapons never miss though and will hit all enemies in the party.

What's cool about Odin's laser gun is that it NEVER misses! He must have been a sharpshooter.

@amazingdany The reason it doesn't miss is because it's a wide-angle shot, like a sweeper shot or DOOM's BFG9000, according to the novel, iirc.

Hard to miss with a giant evil flashlight, heh.

The Laconian Axe is better than the Laser Gun if you have Myau cast Help on Odin.

I played this game also I the past, but when I came here Lassic never appeared only the room nothing else :S

Finally, the Lassic battle music.  SOOO good. I used to be a schmuck and have to keep Myau alive to get home after beating Lassic, and then I figured out the transfer trick--what a revelation to a 12 year old's mind! That sound when Myau flies from the tower to the sky castle still gives me goosebumps.

Write these down, dummy! If you tell people (especially HERE--remember WHERE you are posting) it will not be a surprise!

Plus, it will not be a remake unless you start from scratch (which is what separates a remake from a modification). The only characters you should be starting with are Alis and Lassic, because these are part of the story of in Phantasy Star 2.

Also, a good book I recommend is "Game Design: The Art & business of Creating Games".

The book doesn't mention the almost Dark Seed-like requirement of getting the crystal (that you need to be able to beat Lassic) from the soothsayer, but it covers several other problems.
