People who think this guy shouldn't have gotten prison time are idiots. Two big reasons here:
1. He shot him before there was any guilty verdict. By that logic, anyone can accuse anyone of anything, and it's perfectly fine for someone to deal out punishment without anything being proven.
2. He could have easily missed and killed an innocent bystander. How justified would his action have been if that bystander had been some other father's child?
1. Examination of the suspect revealed that he did indeed sexual assault the young man, plus he already abducted him so it's all a matter of paper work.
2. When he pulled the pistol from his boot and leveled it, it was directly parallel to the victim's head. Therefore, unless he was using a larger caliber pistol (which isn't likely, considering the smallness and the fact there was no exit wound), he could not have harmed anyone else.
I was attending LSU in Baton Rouge at the time. The people in the area would have elected him president and let him fuck their wives and daughters. The DA knew he would have been toast in the next election if he had mounted any kind of serious prosecution. Everyone was shocked when the shooter actually got some punishment. We all considered it a gross miscarriage of justice!
I bet he asked his kid if 'something' had happened before him doing this. No one can understand the pain a parent would feel when a fucker like that would have taken your kid and molested him. It is VERY HARD not to think of not killing the molester... I can't say he did the right thing, but I think i might have done the same if I was in his boots.

I bet he asked his kid if 'something' had happened before him doing this. No one can understand the pain a parent would feel when a fucker like that would have taken your kid and molested him. @kingkeller101 Not really. Three meals a day, play basketball and other sports outside, television, workout, free healthcare...no, no rotting in jail. If that were the case, then yes, that would be fitting. Unfortunately, having worked for/been a private investigator, people think its such a fitting punisment, but they receive so much more than you think, sadly. (^_^)
