Chamois ...i use them from time to time to blend, but they tend to take away a lot of charcoal as well....

I drew the exact same picture but in pencil. what surprised me was that without taking measures you happened to get very pricise on proportions.

thank for you the comment, but i actually spend a lot of time outlining in pencil before i move onto charcoal....so what you cant see is all the pencil lines that i use as guides...

Yeah, I use a white eraser and a kneaded eraser. they are more important than the actual addictive media (charcoal) in my opinion

it depends really. Amount of time, how big, if it is for someone I know or not.

In the end, I usually work something out between myself and the buyer, so that both of us are satisfied.

I am just curious as to what are some of the tools u used? Such as erasers and different kinds of chalk, and what you used to blend and shade

i work mainly with vine charcoal and a kneaded eraser...

however i do have compressed charcoal and a white eraser in my arsenal as well. As far as blending, I use any and all of my fingers, sometimes a small stump and when I do the backgrounds, or skin i sometimes use a chamois cloth....works gloriously, however it takes a lot longer to build up a darker tone, b.c the chamois picks up a lot of the charcoal

you know drawing really isnt a talent..its more of a skill as long as you practice youll get be good at it..so if you want to draw like him..just pick up a pencil sit and draw for like 3 hours every day for 5 years then youll be as good..at the begining it will be fustrating but yell get it dont give up!!!

well let me descirbe to you how I did his teeth, and how I do everyone elses teeth...blending stump its really easy and takes a little bit of time patience and most importantly looking!

4.5 hours usually my stuff takes between 3.5 and 5 hours...and sometimes spaced out over a few days
