No, it's not a bad ending. You were right the first time, it's fate. This is just how the arc goes. Rena lights Satoko's house on fire ( containing a dead Shion, Satoko and Mion ) then stabs Keiichi and tells him to ask for forgiveness. ( Just like Mion kept saying she was sorry before Rena killed her. ) He apologizes three times, Rena laughs and says "It's no good. It's useless for you to apologize as well". Then this happens and she leaves him in the house to die.

Yes, this is from Tsukiotoshi-hen. It was only featured in the PS2 game. Except its just Shion, Rena and Keiichi who kill Teppei. Satoko finds them after killing him and freaks out. ( there's a video of part of it up ), Mion didn't know about this and dressed up as Shion ( after Shion was killed by Satoko ) to find out why everyone was acting so odd.

I suggest playing through this arc. It's amazing.

It's both Shion AND Mion who are found dead with Satoko. Mion was posing as Shion to get information on what her friends and her sister did. Shion was killed days earlier by Satoko in her Level 4 state. Afterword, Satoko goes to Level 5 and proceeds with clawing her thoat, Tomitake style.

After the whole ordeal with Keiichi, Rena flees from the scene.

Which, she is hiding in her hideout in the trash dump, where she is eventuall found and killed by Takano's henchmen(Yamainu).

(btw, Mion was killed earlier by both Rena and Keiichi when she confronted both of them in the dump, pretending to be Shion. Both Keiichi and Rena are too far in their paranoia, that they don't realize it's Mion, and instead kill her.)

Yoigoshi-Hen is the chapter when Shion got possessed by Mion's spirit and it's only in manga form. It is an alternate ending of tsumohoroboshi hen but it happened years after it. Shion practically looks like Akane already (with katana and pistol XD)

Uh...dude? She was never possessed by anything. She just disguised herself as Mion; and besides, Shion is technically Mion because when the twins were born, somebody got them mixed up. Shion is really the older twin and therefore should be named Mion and Mion is the younger twin and therefore should be called Shion. So, technically Shion was just using her real name when referring to herself as Mion in Yoigoshi-hen.
