J.E. Mainer and His Mountaineers play classic old-time southern mountain stringband music - not bluegrass. He goes right back to the 30's, starting out with with his brother Wade. In the '60's he reinstated his band - this time, using his own adult children - to great effect. These performances are still available on DVD. I LOVE ole J.E. - a TREASURE !! He's passed on now, but his music remains - to bring joy to countless thousands !!
One of my favorite J.E. Mainer renditions. Thanks for posting it!

My God, I wish that I could play fiddle as good as ole J.E. Mainer ; and the banjo as good as old George Pegram.
