I'd go running and crying out the room whenever this commercial came on. That bird scared me. I wouldn't even touch the bus we had in preschool. And now twenty something years later, it's still a little off-putting.
HOLY CRAP LOL !! i've remembered this commercial since the mid 80s !! i remember every word of it still and i havent seen it since about 1985 or so !1 i actually was luck enough to have these cards !! they came in the mail at my grammas house she got them for me / i remember the holder for the cards was a little box that looked like the bus from the commercial and it had a handle on it and it snapped shut in the front / thanks for posting this now if i can only find an alley cats commercial..
Ahh, yes. When the commercial ended, what we DIDN'T see was the one character they dropped off at the stop sign. That damn purple dinosaur Barney was crammed in the bus' back seat...and we all know what happened once HE got loose.....
i bet kids hated sweet pickles hahah i mean... it was probably really awful and patronizing the way adults usually design 'fun learning games' for kids.

That's funny, I thought it was a short bus not a VW van, well father time warped my memory of this commercial, never had the Sweet Pickles stuff, remember the jingle 20+ years later and the little girl saying "Sweet Pickles is great!"
i had this as a kid we got it and its a green bus with cards in it a few minutes ago i made these things called Elephant Balls lmao i know its funny to me too now basically alls it is is peanut butter honey and flower mixed into a dough as an adult i call them peanutbutterballs umm not much better i know lol but i got it from the cards that came in the Sweet Pickles Bus lol :)
I remember when I was 6 years old, the sweet pickle bus came to my neighbors house to deliver the stuff to their kids, but it was just people coming out of the van, not that big ass bird custume. LOL....
Smart Moms know how kid's minds grow upon Sweet Pickles!! haha even at a young age me and my friend would crack for minutes at that girl, "Sweet Pickles is Great!! We would then say that as a response for everything. Thanks!!
