One thing that comes to mind in a sense is how much of a lack of intelligence many americans have. I mean I know there are people who have difficulty trying to go to school or have difficulties doing certian things like advanced math or something but there are many more who accept failure and are fucking rewarded for it.

Jefferson was basically a good man, who actually had deep convictions against slavery. The first draft of the Declaration of Independence actually had some pretty harsh language against the practice (which was promplty removed by the rst of the Continental Congress). I actually do have some wisdom, having actually fought alongside Australians in a war. I have also traveled extensively all over the world. After like the second grade I refused to do the pledge. I was actually KICKED out of homeroom MANY times for it. I always stood respectfully, and kept my mouth shut. But nope, that wasn't good enough. I had to give myself over. I kept trying to explain I don't agree with the idea of pledging myself to one country at a young age. What if I wanted to move far away and be a citizen of that country? Yeah

The level at which it was demanded of me depended on my homeroom teacher. Even then I had an adversion for it, and if I couldn't get away with not standing up, I'd at least refuse to put my hand over my heart or say the words.

Actually Jonny, I haven't lost any of the freedoms guaranteed by the constitution under the Bush administration. Nobody else has either. During the first few years of ww1 and ww2 we had DEMOCRAT administrations who didn't want to get involved in a "European" war. We got involved only after Pearl Harbor was attacked and the Germans had sunk several US vessels (WW1). That same mentality exists with today's democrats and liberal MORONS. Don't do anything unless we get hit first.

but really I'm glad I did not make the military a career occupation for several reasons. Well one of the reasons is that army will and does enlist people with an IQ of 80, and while people with and IQ of 80 can aim and point a rifle, they lack reasoning why they are doing all of this in the first place. Jefferson was basically a good man, who actually had deep convictions against slavery. The first draft of the Declaration of Independence actually had some pretty harsh language against the practice (which was promplty removed by the rst of the Continental Congress). Jefferson himself wound up being financially dependent on those slaves. Actually, he was in debt, and the only thing keeping his family in a home was that. Doesn't excuse it I suppose., but the guy did have a terrible situation.

I actually do have some wisdom, having actually fought alongside Australians in a war. I have also traveled extensively all over the world. Well said. But I have to say I do love this USA and if it was for me I would pledge for the values this country stands for a million times except for the fact that I am an Alien. I was brought as a patriot in my homeland, singing the lyrics not of one but two anthems (my state and my country) and raising the flag in the morning and folding it in the aft. mind you not in the military, I was in a public school. Just makes the state of war that much more shitty, especially in those few wars that have to be faught. The American Civil War was about 1000 times bloodier than it needed to be, because the first half dozen generals or so that Lincoln went through had no fucking concept of modern warfare.

Good observations Wiggles. I will say, however, that we will likely look back 50 years from now and see that the war in Iraq was a turning point towards positive developments in the Middle East because it gave secularism a chance. We'll see, though. Things with Israel are really heating up and who knows what will happen. Agree that N. Korea isn't much of a threat but Japan is making noises about offense being the best defense. China will really love that.

They had a plan in place, that had been specifically designed to defeat Saddam, secure the country and prevent an insurgency form ever forming, and have a new Iraqi government up and running with in 1 year. I agree with the 'idea' of the war on terror, including go into Iraq. That's based on, like Sean said a few videos ago, a lot of fucking thinking. Infact, I'd wanted to see SOMETHING happen with Iraq since the 90's, before I even knew George Bush Sr. has sons in politics.

After like the second grade I refused to do the pledge. I was actually KICKED out of homeroom MANY times for it. I always stood respectfully, and kept my mouth shut. But nope, that wasn't good enough. I had to give myself over. I kept trying to explain I don't agree with the idea of pledging myself to one country at a young age. What if I wanted to move far away and be a citizen of that country? Yeah

While my experience with the pledge is a bit more relaxed than consensusSaplentium's, they do, indeed, recite it every morning in American schools. The level at which it was demanded of me depended on my homeroom teacher. Even then I had an adversion for it, and if I couldn't get away with not standing up, I'd at least refuse to put my hand over my heart or say the words.
