From looking by the ingredients, it seems that dfi dstruct and american crew forming cream (they are made by the same company) are pretty much the same wax. But I havent used dstruct.

Hi by my experience the extreme creame is god for a solid hold back slick else im more likely to use a creame like this in weed hair comb and blow dry it and then ad more if needed.

The length is only important so the weight of the hair will keep it back like that. products that are great are fx hybridized wax or many a gell, it depend on how you like the resoult and the felling of your hair.

Leave 3 cm on top and 1 cm on the sides and back? And also, like I said before, it is hard to gel my hair up. You hair is very thick and you can gel it up with pretty much anything.
