  • sicksick f';'''k

  • sick song

  • This was a good day despite losing a job that I hated because The Police were Back!

  • "rehearsal" performance

  • best drum intro ever ??? take it your abot 7 y/o ,,,,, here just 1 to go listen to ,, SLADE ,, good buy`ti `jane, and if you want to listen to a great drummer go listen and watch mick tucker from sweet

  • This guitar is a joke

  • @cacesa6 i would like to disagree but that would also mean i like to be an ignorant ar-tard

  • @cacesa6 12 Feb 2007 - the Police announce their 2007 reunion tour at Hollywood's Whisky a Go Go with a "rehearsal" performance."rehearsal" performance "rehearsal" performance

  • is sting still married and have sex for 9 hours???????

  • A classic song.

  • still got it

  • Greatest comeback tour of all time! Awesome band as well!

  • The guitarist sucks!

  • @valkriemissle A bit overawed perhaps?

  • Sucked like the song though

  • its rehearsal first thing in the morning after the grammy show, they all can't be arsed and are hung over, they usually sound much better lol

  • @TheDorisNoris without andy this band would not have made it anywhere, what are you talking about?

  • @TheDorisNoris Actually, Andy made most of the riffs...Sting provided the lyrics and basslines. Each member contributed their own part.

  • Thought there was an awesome solo towards the end of this song:/

  • 1ST time when they played this tune it was unique and grate but this time it dosent saund realy good, I wuld be disapointed to hear them like this live!

p.s. sorry for my english :P

  • I read in the description this is a rehearsal concert, not part of the tour, so...they can make as many mistakes as they want to.... they are The Police

  • fantastic drummer

  • stop whining about andy. he plays guitar better than all of you. like was said this song is incredibly hard to play. Andy is amazing.

  • @valkriemissle Give him a break im guessing he hasnt played it in about 25 years.

  • @valkriemissle Might be because he about 70 years old...

  • que le pasó a andy? =/

  • great song and the drummer rock the drums sting the best

  • great song and the drummer rock the drums

  • @valkriemissle Hey, mr. Summers have done so much things that you don't have the permission to talk like that for him!

  • HEY !!! WATCH "JELLY PLANE" on YOUTUBE !!!

  • ive always thought that in this song, it would sound better if the "message in a bottle" chorus bit just went apeshit one time, instead of always softer

  • Andy sucks here! What the fuck?! Practice the songs at least once before the show.

  • Andy is hung over or something. He's a god but he wasn't proving it that day. Luckily, he kicked ass on the tour!

  • My all-time fav. Police Song. Andy and Stew are legends but without Sting's songwriting brilliance there would have been no Police. He is the true genius in the band and what a superb voice he still has.

  • best drum intro ever...

  • @valkriemissle he looks tired as shit lmao. playn that song for the millionth time prob doesnt help hahaha

  • his playing is sloppy cos hes using fingerpicking mark knopfler style for some unknown reason...

  • @cdcgb1 yeah it made me wonder if he actually plays the real recorded track in this way, if you listen closely you can't really hear any pick attack, but I'm guessing that's just his effects that dull that down. It certainly sounds more flowy with the finger style, I'm actually glad he is playing it so slinky, def. gives a true live feel. Sting's solo versions sound very sterile, and if thats your thing that's cool. I prefer the spastic Police versions.

  • sorry to bother u but i just heard of the police.does anybody know who andy isb

  • lÖl_ÃnyönÈ_wàNnå_chàt_wÎth_me_ï_fÉÉl_s0_l0ñÈlÿ_tôdÄÿ∟

  • Uuuuuu.. ;/ Andys mistakes don't make me happy.

  • i dont like this version

  • @valkriemissle Playing someone else's masterpiece is always than coming up with one that the whole world has sang over decades . So take your degree and shove it

  • @Tfmusicmaker WELL SAID!

  • イイネ!

  • イイネ!

  • @valkriemissle his playing is sloppy here and you may be able to do better live but you'll probably never be the guitarist for a band as iconic as the police so it really doesn't matter very much.

  • @valkriemissle

Andy playing sloppy is still far superior to most rockers playing well.

  • @valkriemissle Message In A Bottle kills your fucking hand due to it's awkward fret position, I'd like to see doing any better..

  • @beanboyo

I started practicing yesterday, I can imagine its tough to small hands. But its not THAT hard, after 2 hours practicing I can play it clear and fluently only a little bit slower

  • Song is amazing

  • the guitarist is not at its best i guess.

  • @NIKLASoad yup.a little sloppy i guess. just a tad sloppy.

  • I love this song. These guys are great!! And what is this about being close to death!?!?! OH heck no. Everyone is close to death. We all can die any day at any age. I've known friends and young kids who have died. The music never dies. It's the taste in it that may die. Let's keep it alive! Rock on!!

  • awsome!

  • summers is playing like a right prick on this song

  • This was a rehearsal after twenty odd years of performing together and was pretty fucking good! Why criticize? And for your information the gigs were superb after this. Jesus they're only human!

  • They've still got it!!

  • it depresses me so much to hear older singers lose their awesome voices. sting will always sound like this. thats awesome

  • O.O

I love The Police but this concert is so bad.

  • @Marquinator rehearsal one... :P

  • This is my fave Police tune - much different than anything else they ever did. Andy's guitar is flawless! Thanxmuch for the post!

  • what a fantastic band they were went to see them in england about 12times................simply the best

  • it would be nice to hear the bassline

  • They ruined a really great tune by having that idiot rap!

  • stewart his being to soft on them drums, he cant speed up and beat the shit out of them drums like he did 25 years ago.

  • @Yosimar Igual, pese a todo The Police es The Police...

  • Police 2007 - Message In A Bottle - Sting is incrediably tallented, love Sting & the Police. Wow!

    Gloria Houghton

  • Love that intro

  • @Blackheathguy you are funny

  • @annemarie021 Why what did I do? lol

  • @Blackheathguy the commet about van

  • 4:19 with the drummer is great when he rocks those drum!

  • i regret not seeing these guys in toronto in 2007. fucking work would'nt let me go!!!

  • @MeYouView The same thing happened to me..............except it was the Led Zeppelin reuinon :(

  • the trick to doing that long finger spread is to not leave your hands in that posistion for very long. sounds easier than it looks but you if you remove your index finger off the the intro notes it should get easier

  • 4:20-end of song is cool for the drummer. he knows how to rock those drums.

  • 1 Tantric twat (who's good on the bass when he wants to be) and 2 legends

  • @mrcuthbertgriswald pretty much lol.

Although I'm surprised sting can get a tune... maybe this is one of the rare occasions where he isn't trying to play from up his own arse (the other two wont let him lol) /sarcasm.

I do like some Sting stuff, but by christ he is a twat lol.

  • GREAT SONG MISS THEM ON TOUR! PEACE

  • Teleprompter fail.

  • takes guts among other attributes to break away when it doesn't feel right anymore.... some bands hold out long after they're ripe... sting did it, to the benefit of him & his fans...

  • Im looking for anyone that can record a guitar acoustic to this song that sounds clean so i can rap over it

    you'll get credit for it

message me if you can send me a clean cut acoustic recording

    thanks :)

  • donde puedo conseguir el concierto completo.

  • wow...at one point they all just stop playing?? C'mon guys a little rehearsal never hurt anyone...Stings voice sounds fine to me...

  • andy summers is highly underrated

  • @PabloMaffioli dude, I fully agree. A. Summers is way underrated, he's the MAN.

  • @PabloMaffioli no hes not underrated every one knows hes awesome

  • @PabloMaffioli and Stewart Copeland is the alltime greatest rock drummer. Awesome concert @1981 at the rosemont Horizon.

  • @PabloMaffioli wheras his sister ann gets all the attention...

  • I sold my business 3 years ago and decided to write about my five and half year journey which took place from 1980 to 1986. It's a first hand account of traveling with some of the greatest rock & roll bands of the eighties, The Police, U2, The Clash, Billy Idol, Aerosmith, John Mellencamp, REM & Motley Crue. I worked with each band as a concert merchandiser. My book, ROCK MY WORLD, is available on amazon/ kindle in the music section. Take a look!

  • @oclock57 REM wasn't mainstream then.

  • OMG,such a sound with tree people!!!!!!The drummer Stewart Coplant is amazing!!!!

  • I love The Police but this sounds awful. why?

  • @Mikeus2006 Live performances depend on so many things, technical and motivational... :D I felt the same as you say. Just go watch other live videos from the tour and maybe you feel the force again. :P

  • @JohnM3D yeah totally. or I can listen to King Of Pain and remember what an awesome song that is.

  • @Mikeus2006 How is this awful? This is a rehearsal performance and it's their music so they can do whatever they want with it.

  • sting looks ewan mcgregor....... but doesnt rock as much as sting

  • que buen tema por dios!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! very song

  • brilliant.

  • My band do a cover of this. Check it out and rate please the trojan eaters

  • I don;t know summers is playing there but. it's not what he originally intended and it sounds weird, and at times just wrong. Maybe all the years have worn on the routine and he just does not remember and tries something different... Still cool to see them back together and Stewart Copeland is still shit hot...

  • The best!!!!!!

  • not hard im play 30 min in a day and i play it on 14 days

  • Amazing song from him! You've got a great musical taste!

    Cheers!

  • three old guys on the stage

  • wow! Nice,Nice!

  • great music

  • theyre so slow .. they're messing up their own song old dude looks like he's gonna die on that solo when they zoom in

  • <3 What a very nice version!!

  • I've been looking to sting's bass for ages: can somebody tell me the exact name of it?

  • Sting's bass as a very early Fender Precision bass, '51 - '56. some call it a Telecaster bass, since the control knobs and body shape is similar to a Telecaster guitar. I think the P-bass as we know it came out in '57.

  • I would love to see the Police live someday.... What a great song!! Check out my cover, let me know what you think! :)

  • arriva la tercera edad!! woooooooooooooooo

  • @xilicom jajajajajajajaj me cago de risa tu comment xD

  • i love police would be great 2 see them live u can see they still hate each other though the little bit at the begining trying 2 make it look like they r jokin but they arnt lol

  • rough.. nice and honest

  • on retrouve la légèreté du début, ils n'ont pas pris une ride, c'est incroyable

  • Man I want to see this live so bad.

  • I actully had trouble with c# minor g minor an e flat were rather easy for me

  • stewart copeland pwns!!

  • someones got to get paid son

  • In Standard tuning, I wonder what the hardest key is to play in since it's not C# minor...hmm maybe G minor?

  • I cant stand their early performances of this song but there is something magical about their live versions from 2007 to present.

  • great vid 5/5

  • bello, good live....

  • the police it' s super

  • Comment removed

  • amazing!!

  • This song is hard on the guitar. At least for me. I can't stretch my fingers that much!

  • You don't need to stretch. Listen closely and you'll hear he doesn't play all three notes at the same time. If you can bump your hand or rotate your wrist you can grab the note with your pinky. Just release your first finger when you do. You also might want to try a 24-3/4" scale guitar!

  • @greyblooz Look at about :40 you can see Andy doing quite a stretch, and on his Telecaster, 25 1/2" scale..

  • So what? I can make that stretch, too. My point was that it's not necessary, and I think it sounds to play the riff legato, instead of letting the notes ring together. Finding solutions to technical problems is part of the creative process. So is copying, but it would be a tragic waste of time learning to play something just because Andy Summers did it that way. Right, Andy?

  • @BrenMan94 Just been trying the main riff to this myself lately, mainly as an excuse to work on stretching my fingers. It gets easier with practice. next step for me is to get it up to speed and smooth it out somewhat...

    Just keep on trying. :)

  • @BrenMan94 I know!! It takes the piss, but you'll reach it soon enough!

  • @BrenMan94 yeah and they practiced for like two weeks before playing this i think.

  • @BrenMan94 It needs an hour of exercise, I can play it even I started not much time ago ; )

  • @BrenMan94 that's why i'm glad that my fingers are long ;D

  • @BrenMan94 You dont have to stretch your finger at all...but i guess you can only read tabs then.

  • @thehornypuppy actually you do. frets: 4|6|8 is the main riff. kinda hard for three fingers :/

  • @SuperCanadianPride you can do the "8 fret" a.k.a high e on standard tuning in the first open string...no need to stretch the hand so much. You can also play on the second string in the fourth fret, also 13 fret on the fourth string; again, in standard tuning.

And that's just for the first chord...obviously you can play them different. On a low tuning there wouldn't be so much stretching. you just have to figure it out.

  • @BrenMan94 first warm up ya fingers tenderly. if it hurts, relax ya fingers, wait 3-5 minutes, then exercise again.

train it at the same time, daily (05.30 to 08.30 pm for example)

    use a metronome.

    start with low bpm's

    andy is a virtual player

virtual means practice 6 to 8 hours every day

this is not 3-accord punk ;)

  • @BrenMan94 its actually really easy if you have big hands though

  • @BrenMan94 but if you use drop tuning, you'll be able to handle that much better :) try it, you'll see.. ;)

  • @BrenMan94 it's not much difficult!!

  • @BrenMan94 Exactly...seems easy: just 4 chords, simple progression, not too many notes. But to stretch your fingers another 2 frets, not easy .

  • @BrenMan94 try not to stretch and learn to quickly move your hand and fingers to each fret if that makes sense, worked for me

  • @BrenMan94 not really

  • @BrenMan94 you don't need to stretch your finger so much...

practice and try to move your fingers a little faster!

  • try "jonnygitar38"!!!!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!! *o*

  • esa cancion es la mejor que he escuchado en mi vida

this song is the best in my life!

  • go to my favorites

  • Are they all british or just Sting?

  • sting and andy are british, stewart is from america

  • you know stewart lived in egept for a while. (sorry for the misspelling)

  • Egypt you mean haha

  • english not british

  • how hard a key is to play in is highly determined by how you're tuned. C#m may be seen as so complicated because it really doesnt have much to do with your standard major chords (D, C, G, A, E, etc) some tuning change will take care of it though, as the simplest fix.

  • dido

  • the song is always in c#m....

  • Hardest key to play in. Ever.

  • not very convincing :D

  • ancora una volta giaccio in ginocchio davanti all'energia che con basso chitarra e batteria sti tre vecchietti sanno tirare fuori.

  • close to the same voice still good my dad calls theys guys gay but i like them i lisend to them all summer when i was working on my granparents roof

  • Almost 60 years old and still this incredible voice , I don't know how he is doing that ;P

    I love it .

  • @natO27ab hes looking great for his age too. dont get me wrong ^^

  • @RyanLies Yeah, he looks not bad either I must say ;) But the times when he was so charminig - it's gone forever . All that's left after his youth it's his voice . Isn't it very sad , that all big stars , like Bono , David Gaham and Sting , they are so close to death ? I know that they having great , and they are only 50/60 , but they will not with us another 30 years , and all what will left on the stage are Miley Cirus and Jonas Brothers ;/ It's bothers me very much .

  • @natO27ab What bothers me is that we all will die one day. and life is not that long...

We all get older and get uglier und stuff so we need to live our lifes as long as we can !

So lets be happy that sting and bono are not dead yet.

    But its sad.. very sad

  • @RyanLies Yes , let's try that . And let's hope that they won't stop performing 'cause I have to see them live at least once ;) I would give everything for one more The Police 's tour ... eh , we must to have hope :)

  • @natO27ab Their soul will leave us, but their music will reign for ever, just like Mozart's music, Chopin, Vivaldi and so on.

  • @natO27ab David Gaham? what... who... :)

  • @natO27ab

You make me laugh! You are somehow right. There is a lot of garbage out there. Sting is one of my favorites, and most of them are getting old or are already old. There is a lot of new talent coming out now, and many young people are going back to the old roots of music. There is a lot of talent in Europe too, but you don't hear it here in this country, and that is too bad! I love music from all over the world, and when travel I get a chance to listen to a lot of new music.

  • @natO27ab "...and all what will left on the stage are Miley Cirus and Jonas Brothers" o my God thats scary...sad....and true....

  • @natO27ab In 50 years, i'll still be listening to this! (hopefully). I won't even remember who those 'others' are (hopefully!). :)
