Hmm yeh this looks more like a tropical to me .. i know there marine fish but uv made it look fresh water .. try different lighting .. live sand skimmer and bigger flow .. nice tank but could look alot better
Hi I need some help i'm trying to setup a 20 salt water what kind a filtration u use is it the same carbon bio bags like you use in the fresh water tanks filters or are they different any info would be great thank you.
go to nano-reef(.)com. that is the best place for forums on nano-reefs (small marine aquariums). I have been there since '03 and have the same user name as this one for youtube. No, you use live rock, which is rock that's been in the ocean, as the basis for your natural filtration. The main mechanical filtration, and sometimes only, other filtration used is the protein skimmer. Check on nano-reef's articles and you'll see that it doesn't take much to get a tank started.
Well I'm starting fresh anyways with a nice 30 gallon. I have 5 Black Mollies in there now that I have acclimated to saltwater, so hopefully that setup will be better.
Never buy too many fish at once, a general rule of thumb is to have 1 inch of fish per gallon, that does not include measuring the tail. A 20 gallon aquarium does not sound like sufficient enough room for all the fish and inverts you have listed. It is hard to find money for this hobby My boyfriend and I have a 45 bowfront setup we split the cost right down the middle. It is a lot cheaper that way, good luck!
LOL I have a tank at work and it has lot's of things in it maby you can get a biger tank and put more colorfull animals in there it's nice and evrything but I just think you'r tank needs more color to it that's all
that's why you do a little at a time so it won't hit you all at once. Buy live rock a piece at a time and it all ads up and you can buy equipment on ebay pretty cheap
well i dunno, this particular damsel is a more peaceful of the species. I would have loved to put the zebra or typical blue-yellow damsels in, but i was told that they are way to aggressive with each other.
Well my tank has changed since i posted this vid up. Right now all that i have in there is 1 red crab, Pygmy Angel, The same Orange Partial Band Percula Clown, and a Interesting Damsel who's front is purplish and back end orange.
nice the tube does it go to a sump or just something?? message me back plz :D i too have a 20g sw tank and it's easy to take care of just remember your weekly water changes :P
Thanks all for the Positive Comments, mantaining a 20 Gallon isnt as hard as you might think. It does require some effort, but its definately not an overload. If you have more questions, feel free to email me. :D
Nope no protein skimmer at all. Lights. Im running a 50/50 bulb(ie 50% blue light/ 50% white light). Thanks for al the interest in my tank guys. Its only a 20 gallon but its well established and not hard to take care of at all.
lmao cool tank... but where does that hole lead to???

This looks like a graveyard. Dead corals all over. This has nothing to do with saltwater aquariums.
