I was 16 when this movie came out and I first saw it in a church hall as part of a youth group. As close to a religous experience as I've ever had in my life. Wonderful memory.

I don't mind Jamiroquai, but funny, my 19 year old daughter can't stand him. Youth today can be so opinionated sometimes, not like in our respective days. lol

All I know i saw him live in new jersey in the play as jesus christ and he was fantastic !!! my faith in my religion is only stronger because of his performance!!! he makes me have chills with his voice!! He is better than any preacher that i have ever heard...I love the movie but seeing him live was the best ... he will always represent what christ was all about in my eyes...thank you

I'm sorry, but no one can compare to Neeley singing this.

I'm a HUGE fan of this film, and even the prior stage singers, and those who attempt to sing these songs now have no where near the feeling that these actors portray.

People will say that the original cast are better, but this is what I know, grew up with, and I get goosebumps watching it, every time.

If you were Jesus Christ, questioning your father's plans for you, you wouldn't take it lightly, you would be pissed, asking why.

Pasa que la obra concebida por Lloyd Webber muestra los ultimos 7 dias de Jesús desde el punto de vista del otro protagonista, Judas, quien veía a Jesús solo como un hombre y no como Dios, tal como le recrimina Judas a Jesús en el primer tema de la obra "Heaven on Their Minds". Y en lo absoluto, esta interpretación de Ted Neeley es la más asombrosa y desgarradora de todas.

Actually Ian Gillian the singer for deep purple was the jesus in the original recording of the album. Ted Neeley is the guy in the movie. Both are amazing singers. Just thought I'd clear that up because it used to confuse me too.

Respeto esta version por ser la original, pero el castellano tiene ciertas pronunciaciones mas complicadas de decir.. Si, las presentaciones más actuales de Neeley son espectaculares, cargadas de emociones. Creo que los años y la experiencia le han hecho pulir más su actuación. Pero no merma en nada la versión cinematográfica, un Gethsemane en bruto, lleno de emociones, expresiones y sentimiento. Y así como Ian Gillan y Camilo Sesto hicieron lo suyo en sus respectivas versiones, Ted Neeley hizo un trabajo magistral en la pelicula, que traspasa generaciones. Salu2...
