Another hot track from Mrs. Tramaine Hawkins. This track received some secular airplay on urban radio.Gospel and cCristian radio did not pick it up. It is sad; the church really bashed Tramaine for venturing out to take the gospel beyond the church. The church doesn't support good music.
@EMDIEMEI Voices cryin' throughout the night ,won't somebody won't you please take my hand. Hearts are heavy, no day is bright, seeking shelter from danger in the land. We are climbing each & every day , just take me higher, higher, lead the way...to the rock, the Rocka. Mighty fortress and a shield, living water flowing from the tree. Rock solid, and I can feel strong tower standing over me. We are climbing each & every day, just take me higher, higher, lead the way to the rock.
This Album really Inspired me more when I was in the 11th Grade...She Opened Many doors for Gospel Artists in Mainstream during her time. THANKS FOR POSTING. I have this album as well. :)
This out of print album is such a rare jewel that many people do not know about. This came after "The Search is Over" album and was during a time when the Gospel world shunned her as many believe she was becoming too "mainstream" in her music. This was very damaging for Tramaine during this time. This album was quickly brushed aside and the next year, "The Joy that Floods My Soul" came out in 1988 which was a very tame version of her prior two in 87 & 85 albums. Thanks for this sharing this.
I agree with you. This album was never given a chance to surpass The Search is Over, and She also had remixes to The Rock, as well as Freedom, which had Micheal Jackson's brothers on Background and doing some production on the album.

I love this! Thanks for posting. I lost my copy of Freedom many years ago, so I haven't heard this cut in a long time. It's still HOT!
