How many axels have you bent?? Let me tell you, that kart is the sickest thing i've seen in a bit. Way crazy, nice and quiet too. At the same time, that thing piped would be nuts!
@peepeevagi Its all up to the gears you choose. You can gear it to go 15mph, but you wont be able to really keep it from spinning (too much torque), or you can gear it for 50 w/ a slow'ish takeoff and un-godly topend. A 3.5hp engine can even be fun geared right, a 15hp could be hell if geared wrong. Its all up to you to determine the speed you need (thats why I love karts/minibikes!)
I can see the headlines now "Local Asshat breaks speed limits by 30mph on a home made go-kart!" :D
I would have just used it for the beefy V twin sounds it makes. You could hear it coming and never once think it came out of a lawn mower or something. With a proper muffler, it'd sound like a chopper xD
@peepeevagi Ha, hell yeah there's an EZ-GO golf cart on YouTube with a 36hp Vangaurd that is straight piped and sounds JUST like a Harley. Check it out!
This is RAD! Reminds me of the good ol days. I always wanted to pop the twin cylinder 15 HP motor Briggs from our ride mower on one of these bad boys. I've seen it done with the horizontal shafts before too although it's rare. It's hard to find the higher HP motors with a side shaft. I bet this was tons of fun. Hell..it's fun to watch.
If I put some wide ones on it will probably cook the clutch, i'm using a cheapie 8hp clutch. I can't believe it has held up to the endless hours of torture!
Just wait until that thing trips during a spin and you land on your obviously thick skull.

do u have a centrifugal clutch or a torque converter??

Is that a one wheel drive and one wheel brake drive set-up? Perhaps the reason for all the tire spin.

I dunno, is 30mph possible? if supercharged? It IS a Vtwin...

@peepeevagi Dude, with gearing, I wouldn't be surprised at 100 mph. These Briggs motors have TONS of torque.
