Probably one of the biggest flaws of the PS1 Final Fantasies. Some moves just took too long. As for the "mere 9999 damage", One of the things i liked most in Final Fantasy 9 was keeping things on the 9999 limit and not having moves like Omnislash, Lionheart, or Knights of the round that make the game easy and "broken".

@Shadowff61337 Thing is though, Omnislash, along with some of the other limit breaks, really does help to cut down on some of the longer boss battles like Ruby Weapon. And Oblivion from Final Fantasy X was the best, it could do just under 1.6 million damage to a single target with max attack.

@DajaWaja It's called a Pumice. You get a piece from killing the ark and another while you're in the desert palace. To make the full Pumice you need to defeat Hades in Memoria and synthesize it.

I used to love almost all kind of FF summons, big and small, but lately I've been thinking that some of them is just a little to big when it comes to the effect, an attack like that should do more dmg then 9999, and it should take a small part of the land with it. That effect is big enough to remove small countries from the world map.

@Kiota I dont think you are too familiar with final fantasy 9 correct me if im wrong but most bosses only have 60k or less hp so 9999 damage is a big chunk

I'm just saying that if an attack looks that big it "realisticly" should just kill the monster in one hit and rearange the landskape because of the big explosion. :P

It kinda looks like someone is using a bomb to kill a big rat, and the rat still survive and nothing else got damaged in the blast.

But ofc, ingame the 9999 number is a big hit :)

Suffering some serious "Supernova" Syndrome here. The attack last damn near two minutes only to cap out at 9999. At least FFVIII gave their super duper long summon (Eden) the good grace of breaking damage limit so you didn't (1) feel cheated for waiting for the super long cinematic when you could have wailed on the enemy 10 times and (2) so you didn't feel like a fucking moron for going so far out of your way to get it.
