I've got an hp2 enduro since the first and only year they came out. I am absolutely in love with it. I'm now looking to get the hp2 sport. Seriously hard not to love these bikes. Twins rule.
Es una de las mejores motos que he visto, pero espero que BMW ponga en producción masiva el Concept 6, ésa es la mejor motocicleta que han podido diseñar!
Dont agree with you on that beginners remark. This bike has no slipper clutch that could save you if you downshifted to much, and no traction control if you open the throttle to fast in a lower gear. To ride competetive and realy fast with a bike like this you have to be experienced enough. The handling goes way beyond most dare to go. It doesnt nose dive, front-braking is capable almost to the point of accelerating out of a turn. Ride this bike before you make a statement like that w3llet.
But if you want a bike with character and looks, and exclusive too. Buy a HP2sport, this bike is not made for the big crowd, The s1000rr on the otherhand is made for that crowd who enjoyes the japanes sportbikes. Top speed does not compare or compensate for the exclusive riding experience the HP2sport provides. I know cause i own one, this bike is all about the joy of bikeriding. The most exciting bike i owned and rode in over thirty years of bike riding.
@okkie1958. You did understood wrong. I love this kind of bikes. That talking about 1000RR was to NORML85, how was saing that this bike would need more power. This boxer enginges has so mutch torgue on low rpm that they dont need allots of power, am I right?. 194 hp would bee TOOOO much for riding in offroad.
Absolutely right, and i dont question that you do like the HP2sport. I was just trying to explain the difference between the two bikes. I absolutely love both bikes, but riding boxer bmw's since 1979 makes the hp2sport for me the bike that i feel most comfortable on, and make no mistake. It can compete with the fastest bikes. Check out N8 practice on you tube.
I like BMW but it ain't got a raspy brutality that you'd expect of a top of the line supersports. Bmw racing car engines are impressive and seem to be at the limit comfortably.. the bikes not so much so :(
1170ccm Boxermotor mit 133 PS Leistung und 115 Nm Drehmoment. Topspeed liegt bei 260 km/h und der Preis leider bei 21.600€ Dafür ist der Sound allerdings unbezahlbar...!!! ;-)
rode it yesterday, not even close to being as quick as my 1098s let alone my 1098r, didnt let that stop me buying it because its the best boxer sports bike so far, looks great, feels light and neutral, it way easier and more comfortable to ride than my lovely v twins, it is rare and a little off beat so if you can........ then why not, yes any 600 supersport bike will lap faster but thats not why you would buy one!
It's nice to see BMW focus on making a "crotch rocket" out of their flat twin. The touring bikes are okay, my 72 year old dad was a die-hard BMW rider.
In fact he spent the last few seconds of his life riding an R1150RT before he was killed in a road accident. Anyway, the HP2 would be my choice for a Beemer Twin.
gearbox of the BMW R1200S,1,170 cc,130 bhp @ 8,750rpm,Boxer 2 cylinders,4 Valves per cylinder,DOHC (double overhead camshaft) with drag lever,Single-disc dry clutch Ø 180 mm,0--100 km/h < 3.1seconds,significantly modified engine of the BMW R1200S,MAX Torque 115 Nm at 6000rpm
that might be clever bmw filming though. I hope it does sound like that. This bike is abit too much money for not enough substance though. If it were priced at 10k then it might have sold
It actually sounds like a Heinkel bomber when accelerating out of a corner and GOD it's good looking.. I'd buy this instead of any Duke, why? Because it just is cooler than a Duke. And there isn't any why about that, you just know after seeing this vid.
Not to sure mate, but by the looks of it my guess would be a test track that the company uses to test their machines. It could be a test track for anything, its wide enough for cars and layed out nicely for bikes, So personally my guess would be a test track for companies. But not 100% sure.
133ps from an air-oilcooled boxer motor single seated only for racetrak and how much money? over 20k euro? no thanx, a four cylinder 1000 whatever has half the money and puts this "thing" miles away in the back. Nice promo video but useless bike.
THIS is the racetrack vid. U should see the dirt (mud, sand, gravel, water or whatever) videos. No other bike would do so well in both places. May be the KTM Adventure 990 is a bit better in the dirt, but stays way behind in the racetrack.
Looks like he warmed up those tires pretty good!

and I think that this street HP2 is good for beginers, becose it doesnt matter so much which gear are you using.

If you want very very fast bmw motorcycle, go buy yourself a 1000RR. It has 194hp and weight is about 205kg whit benzine!!

This bike ride is much more fun than on any four cylinder bike.
And the lap times are brilliant for a standard bike!
