  • Hungarian Partridge? Seriously? I was told we had them by a friend but when I called Idaho Fish and Game they said that species was not here in Idaho. Are you sure you didn't shoot a Grey Partidge?

  • Hungarian and Grey partridge are the same thing.

  • Not according to Fish and Game. You may be right but I did call them and they said that Hungarian Partridge is different and did not exist in Idaho. Just going by what they told me.

  • Well they are all the same...see the info below. Whoever is answering your questions at the Idaho Fish and Game just isn't that familiar with upland birds.

Grey Partridge - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Grey Partridge, Perdix perdix, also known as the English Partridge, Hungarian Partridge, or Hun, is a gamebird in the pheasant family Phasianidae of the order Galliformes, gallinaceous birds.
