I've always been torn on this subject, until (gulp) Obama gave the best answer I have ever heard. He avoided the legal issues and stressed it as a moral dilemma. He says it is something a mother should be able to do but should be raised not to believe in it. It was legalized because women would rather stick a coat hanger inside themselves than have a baby inside them. I personally would NEVER have an abortion, but I completely agree in its legality. Adoption IMO is the more appropriate solution.
I'm doing a research project on the harm of the legalization of abortion on America. It has taken me months work and research in both prochoice and prolife studies to finish the project, and actually, there are direct links between the upswing in abortion and the upswing in divorce, depression, and more out of wedlock pregnancy. In addition the results on the individual are incredibly damaging.

In fact I would wager that if you caught your neighbor molesting his daughter you would be forthright in at least telling the proper authorities about these actions. You argue that an unborn child isn't a human, say that it doesn't deserve rights, therefore can be killed without troubling the person performing the killing. By that logic we can define other partial, or potential persons, as non persons undeserving of protections laid fourth in the constitution, such as the right to life. So a person who is brain dead, in a coma, that is recoverable, has potential, same thing.

I've always been torn on this subject, until (gulp) Obama gave the best answer I have ever heard. He avoided the legal issues and stressed it as a moral dilemma. He says it is something a mother should be able to do but should be raised not to believe in it. It was legalized because women would rather stick a coat hanger inside themselves than have a baby inside them. I personally would NEVER have an abortion, but I completely agree in its legality. Adoption IMO is the more appropriate solution.

It has taken me months work and research in both prochoice and prolife studies to finish the project, and actually, there are direct links between the upswing in abortion and the upswing in divorce, depression, and more out of wedlock pregnancy. In addition the results on the individual are incredibly damaging.

Um to call it the worst thing this country has done makes you sound like a complete fool... the type of people that ususally get abortions (poor, uneducated, ill, or criminals) usually raise children that grow to be just like them and ever since the legalization of abortion the crime rate in america has been decreasing jack ass and so many women have gone on to be more than just housewives and mothers..while it may be wrong morally. logically it has not done harm to the country.. im pro-life btw
