My pitbull loves kids...but I still don't leave the kids alone...and is only protective if he sees someone he's never seen before....some people just raise their pitbulls to be aggressive as in a fighter dog....all depends on how u raise it

That dog is awesome very buff. I have a female shes blue but not yet that big. Shes only two months old but shes a really good dog and very playfull but she does have a mean streak , sometimes i think she has rabies lol but i think she will be the best dog ive ever had.

@VoiceOfReezun I have owned several Pit bulls and Rotties in my life and they are both very sweet dogs. That has got to be the most closed minded comment I have ever read. My pit/rottie was sweet to everyone and I mean everyone which is why I no longer have her because she was stolen. She loved babies, kids, adults other animals...anything. Very few dogs have bad temperaments, they are just raised to be aggressive and mean. It's sad that such a wonderful loyal breed gets such a bad reputation.

PITS, ROTTS, MASTIFFS, ECT.are great dogs as long as you are a good owner and have the time to train your dog you will have a loyal&powerful companion at your side. @LKdot007 Pitbulls are not supposed to be "nice". It's in their blood to be hunters and/or gaurd dogs. However, pitbulls can be loyal and even good around children if they are trained properly. Around strangers, well the pit would have to be trained in that way and be used to seeing unfamilier(spell check) people.

@COnative1876 Well you know this already but, i think to be fair we should state that some of these breeds have aggressive instincts that manifest without any violent training experts coin the term "guard breeds" for a reason, its not always the owner encouraging that behavior, but i do agree its up to us to take charge and understand the origins of these breeds and how those traits were chosen to represent their ancestors

i have a pitbull/rotweiler mix and i def dont train him to be aggressive AT ALL he is lovin and friendly and smart but he can be aggressive towards certain people if he doesnt like what he reads from them. dogs r like humans, they can be raised to be a certain way (good or bad), but yet they may still snap and or do what they want

I agree. If I was going to get a dog for any other purpose than as pet quality, I would seek out a reputable breeder who breeds within breed standard, etc.

I've worked at a shelter for 7 yrs & I haven't been bitten by a pit bull yet. (60% of the dogs are bully mixes)

I've owned 6 & have changed the minds of several people by letting them get to know my dogs, who were neutered, properly fed & excersized.

Over 80% of human aggressive dogs are intact - all breeds. Please Neuter!
