yes there are, and older. not too far from hagia sophia is kucuk hagia sophia which means small haghia sophia in Turkish. it was buillt in 527 by emporer justinian who also built haghia sophia it is well worth a look but not many tourists go to see it

Hagia Sophia is a good example for crishtian world that destroyed muslim mosques in Europe and Balkans. In past, the biggest mosque in the world was in Cordoba Andulus Region in Spain. First of all Emperor Justinian the Great built the Agia Sophia (which means saint sophie in Greek), not Constatine, he simply renamed the city from Byzantium to Constantinope after himself. Secondly before Rome captured it it was controlled by Greeks and was founded by the Greek colonists Byzas long ago. Byzantine Roman culture composes much of modern Greek culture.

Constatine the first did not found the city, Byzas of Megara (Greek city state near Athens) in 667 Bc did. He named it after himself Byzantion or as known in Latin Byzantium. The city enjoyed eras of semi-autonomy in the ancient times exanding control over the bosphorous and paying protection to either the Athenians, the Macedons or the Persians. yes there are, and older. not too far from hagia sophia is kucuk hagia sophia which means small haghia sophia in Turkish. it was buillt in 527 by emporer justinian who also built haghia sophia it is well worth a look but not many tourists go to see it

Actually it Belonged to the Byzantine Empire. During that time, even we Greeks identified ourselves as "Romans" since it was the continuation of the Roman Empire and consisted of more than one ethnic group (although Greek was the state language).

@JRF1961 Alhambra should be restored as mosque. Several other churches in spain should also be restored. Respect the turks, atleast hagia sofia got the old heritage back. Moreover they are not using it as a mosque anymore but a museum to show some rich history unlike the spanish who are adamant about not giving up the converted churches
