Thanks for the reply. This is something I would love to get where I live, but I've had problems with kids getting in the back yard so that prevents that.
I've got some old trains still at my parents including some of my father's old Triang trains and a 70's old Intercity 125.
Videos like yours have rekindled my interest in OO gauge and want to start this all up again.
Exactly the same way you would any layout really. The Mains supply is all kept inside the garden shed. As my layout is DCC the track is fed by just four wires, one on each track circuit. the whole layout is electrically live.

No you don't as it is only low voltage outdoors. The mains power in the shed is grounded via the earth wire in the normal way

yeah i have decied now to do oo gauge as n gauge is far to fidly and i am using dcc so i now going to do OO and i was wondering what you have to do
