I think of Mark 7:14-23. Jesus said that sin comes from within not from without. I feel that when people open themselves up to these things they let down their guard and are influenced. I believe your advice is good. Jesus didn't give grace as a free pass to do what we please. And if we truly repent, we turn from sin and god will fill us. 1 Peter 3:11. "He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it" If our goal is to live like Christ, we need to consider, wwjd.

Christians are different in their understanding of our walk with Christ. I used to think it was cool to listen to secular and gospel music, till I saw and was possessed by devils. It took God to show me. It was a fight cause I was hard-headed. Disciplined myself to follow Romans 12:1,2.

1st Corinthians 5:14-21, Romans 6, Colossians 3, etc. Those books deal with living for Jesus as one alive from the dead, walking in the new life, with a mind seeking Christ and mortifying our former lifestyle. That answers the question of WWJD. There's more to this Christian walk, but as the Captain of our salvation said, "Repent ye and believe the gospel."

I've posted so many comments, and even sent personal messages to you about this because music is something which is very important to me, and this issue must be resolved. Something I've been looking into lately is "the Rain Man". This is apparently the name of a demon which inspires many musical artists, and they sing about him. He rains down blessings upon them, like the Dustin Hoffman character in the film of the same name, who is used for profit, and may be the devil himself.

You spoke of "secular music", and the devil does indeed use his power over what is popular with the world, but he already has the world - surely his favourite target is religion; that is where his sneakiness is most effective. Have you ever considered that he is using Christian music as well - that nothing is safe? Rather, we should be aware of his tricks, that we can overcome them, and trust NOTHING this world produces!

perhaps it's not just lyrics but also the vibration of the music itself. i am a huge music lover but in the last decade i've been much more careful about what lyrics i sing along with and also what the "vibe" of the music is - some music makes me anxious or generally upset feeling (or angry) even when i don't know the words (or when it's an instrumental).

I think it is awesome that you are using the actual scripture for this message!! It really doesn't matter how we justify our ways or what we think about this subject...it matters what God thinks, and we know this by His Living Word! How are we missing this simple point? We are not perfect but we are supposed to be perfected by Him...we cannot do that if we become distracted in our comfortable ways and mindsets. Forget about opinions and get into the Word!!

I used to take drugs and hang out with violent thieves. But though I enjoyed the drugs with them I utterly refused to be like their "worldly" ways. Though I was with the world I was seperate from the world. I set an example for them, and I showed them the freedom and joy that a man can have in Christ, living according to love. They had previously supposed Christianity was about strict rules and being miserable all the time. I hated most of their music though. :)

And if the world is using the internet to make videos and run websites and polls, must you also stop reaching so many people all over the world with your preaching and discussions? Is it evil or good what you are doing? According to the way you define "worldly" what you are doing IS "worldly" and you should seperate yourself from it and only do your preaching walking the streets. But the world is also walking and talking, so that too is "worldly" and forbidden!

You are taking things too far. In Matthew 12 for example Jesus complained about the Jews taking the strictness of the law to ridiculous extremes. It's like a shepherd refusing to help a sheep out of a pit on the Sabbath. We now have freedom; we have life and can live it to the full. We judge for ourselves what is beneficial.

The music with a unrighteous messages has been introduced subtly&relentlessly from the beginnings.Even the most innocuous with just a hint of sex/wrongdoing (Wake up Little Suzy-making out&sleeping at the drive-in,etc)sets up even more&more demonic messages to kids to the degree that we tolerate today."What's the harm in it" is a reasonable question but the subtlety led to what we have today. @Blues4Winter Use 'CCLEANER' if you're having problems with Youtube videos playing, but get a little instruction on how to use it first or it can remove passwords and things you don't want it to. Get rid of 'cookies' and 'temporary internet files'. This stuff gets put on your computer and prevents you from watching certain videos and other stuff.

I've been watching churchwomen push the standards of decency for years now. And I mean nearly ALL of them. Even grandmothers! Finally the unthinkable has happened: Strapless mini-dresses. The priests, dead-silent, looking out on half a congregation that's literally half-naked. What's gotten into women? I'd rebuke them from the pulpit! I don't go to church to see skin! I go to commune w/ God. What POINT are these women making?

@armoral Under the previous video I mentioned that often you can hear God breaking through secular lyrics. He's inescapable. People write about Him without knowing it.

I'm sure even you draw the line at how far you take those verses. Are you Amish? Why not? - what with those verses staring you in the face. How far do you take unworldliness? - in all good conscience. Are you a monk in a cell on an isolated cliff? It's for each individual to decide - within the will of God for that person's life.
