I love Lee Joon and Bi a lot however it is disappointing for them to pretend in the shows. The same stories were told by Lee Joon when both of them attend Come To Play as well. It is obviously scripted by their companies.

I think Rain is being strict because he sees a potential in MBLAQ. He knows that they are Good, that is why he don't want them to be "easy-go-lucky". Just like what JYP did to Rain. JYP saw the potential in Rain, he saw in him the qualities of a true STAR, that is why he became strict towards rain, intentionally. JYP said he always compliment his other trainees, but when it comes to Rain, he often point out his weaknesses so that Rain won't feel proud. That is why Rain became what he is now :)

I can totally see why Rain is being strict to MBLAQ. They are basically kids. There are tons of boy groups out there with almost same capacity if not better. You have to be exceptional to become like Rain and Rain knows that better than anybody else. Rain is famous for how disciplined and strict to himself. That is what made him successful. I think Rain has right to be this way to somebody he invests his money, time and energy and mentors. MBLAQ is so lucky to have Rain as their mentor.
