I just got a new puffer and he did the SAME THING! Lol. It really is loud when he crunches the shell. I'm just glad he's interested in eating, even if hermits are an expensive treat. :)

i cant get my puffer to eat!!! =( it has to be eating something I guess, but I never see him, he is to shy, I had him for over 2 months now, is something wrong? I tried misis shirp, clams, shirmp, silver sides, (I also have very agressive feeders (triggers) I think they eat everthing before the puffer get some, I think he is eating only leftovers at night. =(

@calichemorales try feeding him frozen krill. krill isnt the healthiest thing for them but it will probably get him eating. most puffers love krill, mine eats it like its drugs lol

Buddy, thats the food chain. If there was a pufferfish that was small enough for the hermit crab to hunt and eat, then the hermit crab could hunt/eat it. That's not cruelty
