Most (most; some is done because the animal is a working dog) tail docking is done for aesthetics, which is a cruel practice no matter what anyone says. It's perpetuated by breed standards, so even if you aren't a dog breeder, you get it done because that's what everyone else does. It's cruel. If there are extenuating health circumstances, then by all means. But otherwise, there's no need for it whatsoever.

Actually if all of you people who hate docking knew that it actually helps them, you wouldn't be so quick to judge. Boxer's and Rottweiller's (and a few other breeds) benefit from having their tail docked because a lot of them will develop Hip Dysplasia and having a tail that is very muscular like they do can ultimately harm their joints even more. Saying they shouldn't get something done that helps them is actually cruel.

The only thing I don't like about boxers is that they are fart machines. Seriously, I am not trying to be crude. In fact I as I am writing this my boxer just farted. They also can play rough and be aggressive to other dogs, but other than those things they are awesome dogs. I'd recomend them to anyone who can put up with the smell.
