Mostly it is harmonium and tabla but sarangi do appear occasionally at the Gurudwaras.

various precussion instruments might be used aswel, but mainly people use taba and harmonium, although i think that string instruments should be used, like the sarangi, dilruba and various other tanti saaj instruments because Guru Granth Sahib Ji is written in raags, therefore should be sung in raag with the proper instruments.

Sorry, but what's the note he's playing around seconds 8-11? That sure sounds like a shudha ghandar. In darbari, isn't it a komal ghandar? That's like one of the most important parts of the raga . . . But I can't wait foe the whole vid! Look forward to it.

As you said darbari has komal ga, hence why ustadji doesnt play the shudh ga.

PLs tell me is it true that Sarangi is th etoughest of all the instruments to play , as You have to press the strings in between the nails and the fingers. So people get their fingers wounded,, That makes the maestro more repectfull , as what pain he has gone through to sound this Gud.

The other is to be an ustad, to which we have to look no further than his son and grandson's outstanding talents.
