I fell last week of my own pony, this was my first time I didn't get up again but that was because I couldn't get my arms up anymore. I broke my colorbone, my ankle my wrist and 2 fingers .. I can't wait to ride again! But i still have to wait 2 months... Now I'm just walking with her. :) I'm not scared at all 'cause she was just scared for a very big machine, so it wasn't her fault. :)
when i was ten i got my first pony... within the first week i had fallen... dosnt help he was a consistent rearer and bucker..... doubt i could count as high as all my falls!! its just important to wear a helmet, because when those serious falls happen, it is your life on the line...
@thewildmustang91 my second horse reared up and fell on me, but i was fine, then recently my new one took off and slipped and dug the cantle of my saddle into my ribs when he fell on me hurts so much!
Man, i can't count how many times i've fallen off XD ! You can get some serious injuries from simple falls. Unfortunatly, due to my last fall i had to retire from jumping altogether, it was my profession so it was a very hard thing to do. Just saying, be careful!

XD its not much fun to be in pain but my worst fall was only a few weeks ago and i landed on part of the jump and partly on the ground as the mare ran away lol. But I got up and got on her again almost falling lolz. I wish you best luck! Rmember everytime you fall you learn something new everytime and you get better ^^
I've only fallen off twice and I've been riding for around 8 years. But, both of those times, it's made me a much better rider. The first time I fell.. well, I cantered for the first time since the horse decided he wanted to refuse a jump a trot, go in a circle, then canter and smash into the arena fence. See? Made me a better rider. I can canter now. xD
@BlancheDubois JUMPING is more braver then barrel racing! And u create a better bond with ur horse trusting that he/she will get you through the corse very nicley and still and that there jumping like high and tht there like rearing and having fun :)
i had a horse named isabelle and i was so exited to go to my first show with her (i have shown lots of others though) ,and no one told me that her previous owner showd her once but she is horrible at shows and doesnt listen so i went and warmed her upp, fell off 3 times because she was rearingg and i had like no mouth with her and she started acting crazy, it was so scary, but i went in the class anyway. in the canter she started galloping and bucking and i fell on the fence,i passed out.
Sadly I feel more for the horses than the people...he he its not really the horses faults that they are put into the race track or in the show ring....
i went to a beginer camp that was 5 hours a day 5 days a week and the place was having a sleep over the next day so i thought "why not?".so i was riding the horse in a pasture (btw:this horse was a lesson horse and very good with beginers )and i told him to trot and he just took off doing little bucks and i just forgot what to do and by the time i remembered i was already sliding off.i thought "just my luck".well i got a bad bruies on my back and my fingers hurt but igot right back on!
Ive fallen several times and it sucks. It just makes you have more respect for the horse and its immense power. I was tacking up one time, with my horse tied to a post. Something spooked him, and he swung the 300 pound pole into my hip. Another time, my saddle slid right off at a full gallop. Anyone who says that horsebackriders are pansies are completley wrong.
omg alot of these are really bad. but ya once u fall u feel differant. all riders fall its wat makes us riders!!! hahaha ive fallen about 20 + times none of them super serious a couple serious others not at all. but i must warn u sometimes when u fall ull get the wind knocked out of u! and wen tht happends get up slowly and once ur up raise ur hands above ur head then shoulder level then back above ur head keep doing tht untill u get the wind back. @BackInTheSaddle4 omg, right? I fell off my horse when he spooked about a suspicious-looking pile of hay in the field. Somehow he had done 180 lept sideways & bucked all at once (freaking talented kid I suppose). He's got tiny little shoulders so I couldn't help but fall forward & I fell after losing my stirrup & him bucking some more. Like an idiot I stood back up & ran after him (he was heading towards the road). XS I should've done what you said. I was hurting pretty bad after that =S
@BackInTheSaddle4 oh haha you basically said that if you fell off a horse you should assess yourself slowly after you get tossed off before doing anything. I kinda just started running right after I face planted and did some barrell roles XD
Poor horses and riders... I feel bad for the horses because if the riders get crushed not on purpose and their bond is close.. imagine the pain the horse feels. I should know, my grandpa had a friend who love his horse. The horse got scared walking to his STALL and stomped his friend to death..... Horse was so sad i bet he died from a broken heart....

i am 13 and i have fallen off soo may times, i had to learn how to ride a horse bareback before riding with a saddle and that included jumping and all!
Really, riding isn't any more dangerous than, say baseball, or hockey. You can be critically or fatally injured from getting hit in the chest with a 70 mph hardball or getting a puck to the face. It's just a lot harder to predict the injuries and accidents because horses are living things and don't always do what they're told to.
I just have one question: If some of these people are getting seriously injured, who is standing around taking the pics? haha...good video though. I know all about the whole falling thing!
im 13 years old and i was breaking in a 11h pony..it was going ok..so we started on jumping..he jumped around 3 times but then he flung me off right at the jump..i landed on 2 poles and realy hurt my back..it put me of jumping but not riding..but now i am back in to jumping(little)
@demigreeney i rose a 17.2hh jumper and was jumping 3 foot 9. my horse landed on an oxer falling down and rolled over top of me squishing me between him and the poles. he got back up and i was still on him. i didnt jump for a long time... years really but i have been jumping agian thanks to a real nice little quarter horse who is my confidence builder cuz he loves to jump :) takes time but you'll get back to it soon enough

i was run over by a horse i was training who spooked...got up and finish what i was doing. equestrians are born with a talent for getting back up and trying again! thats what makes us great
ive fallen off 11 times. We go by the phrase your a good rider when you fall of at-least 7 times but you are a real rider when you forget. pain, ER visits, broken bones... Thats all part of the fun so when someone comes up to me and says im an amazing rider because ive never fallen off im like no you suck and you have only ridden 1 time ive been for 9 years!!!
if we wouldn't ride horses, falls like them wouldn't happen, and no horse will die or be hurt of us. when i see videos like this, i always think: "the horses are so frightened theyr're in pain if they die or not."
but i love riding, and I hope my horse wouldn't been hurt in such a bad fall. love horses :D
just a cuple days ago on saterday during my lessen i fell on the jump hit my head and i ttryed to stop my self from hiting my head again but i spraiend my wrist then the horses hind lag clip me in the head and then i was nocked unconshice then last thing i remember was my horse coming over and shifing my head then 7and 1\2 hours later i wock up in the hospitial the leat me come home to day
it not how they CAN be it is they are dangerous everytime you get on a horse you have to think i do this because i love it dont let my fears over come me. I will tell you my story.... i just got a new horse and he was acting weird but i was going to ride at a friends house so i determined to get him into the trailer i got madder and madder and he felt it soon he finnaly had enough turn his butt on me and kicked me straight into the ribs i fell back breathless but luckly to be alive.

oh, I hate steeplechasing and racing - almost every race, there is a horse that gets hurt... or killed! And in the calgary stampede this year, ten horses were killed!! who can support that? it was most likely the wagon racing that they died in

a few months ago i was riding in the paddock and i had this crazy idea to jump a fallen branch i was cantering towards it when my horse had tripped in a rabbit hole and went ass over head i was thrown into the air missing a tree by inches when i got back up i didn't worry about my self i ran straight to my horse which was already up off the groung then i discoverd the had fallen on her nose and started to bleed but other then a bleeding nose and a grazed knee she was fine.
i fell off recently a young horse i was exercizing for mi stables as soon as i got on it rodeoed off wif me nd i hit mi hip nd smacked mi head pretty hard off the ground mi instructor said if the horse was any bigger i would have prob been knocked out and wif broken bones aswel it is not a safe sport but it is really great when you have all the thigs go right when your riding
I broke my jaw, have cracked my knee cap, pulled my shoulder out of place tourn all my ligament in my leg of loads of diffrent horses nd i still get bk up nd break horse :P
i ride western i come from a rodeo family i've fallen off when i was 3 had to have stitches when i was 6 i had a horse atempt to buck me off he failed & when i was 14 i got bucked into a barbwire fence & had to have 44 stitches in my leg just from my knee up & I never cried its the was real cowgirls are raised....now i'm 15 and running barrel COWGIRL UP OR GET OVER YOURSELF

But my foot got caught in the stirrup and I was taken around the arena by him several times in canter, his hooves hitting my face more than once. 3 weeks later, I got back on him. If that was a footballer, they would have sat there, made it out worse than it was, cried, and never gone near a horse again. Now YOU decided which one is the real sport.
shes right it dose take skill i fell off and broke my neck then the first day back ridding i fell off agin and once i almost got trampeld by a 17 hand buckskin and a stalion threw me off his back
Some people may think riding is dumb & so are horses, but its no different than sky diving & all the other crazy stuff. Yeah bad stuff happens but horses always give something special back to you that keeps you coming! My last fall was a concussion but that isn't stopping me!
In order to be a good rider you have to fall off multiple times to learn what you did wrong and how to correct it. I have had multiple leg and knee surgeries because of one bad fall but I haven't fallen like that since because I know what I did wrong and I will never do it again!
poor horses :s because when you fal with your horse you can go to the hospital and mostly it will be alright but lots of horses are so delicate they can't recover and are put down xs the lucky ones can stay alive but nomore top sporting for them :) its always the best when nothing happens to both of you ! :D
one thing ive learned from barrel racing. and riding horses in general. Dont always blame the horse. Because its not normally the horses fault. Its normally the riders fault. Sometimes horses are jerks, but next time your horse does something wrong or bucks or rears or does something... think about if it was the horse or YOU.
ive Fell loads due to bad manners if there been rude get back on and make them do it again if The gorse falls in show pull out coz you never no if its leg strained or anything think of your horse not yourself x
I hav a resgisterd American Quarter horse with other breeds in him,and his gaits r rlly bumpy,my instructor says it's like being on a jacked truck going 30 mph over speed bumps.I fall all dhee time,I have had bones broken.And I am still riding and continuing my dream as a barrel racer
@theofficalmandrshow a lil tip with ridin ruff gaits and if your a barrel racer you should now what i mean/......... stick with em and hang on with you knees and you upper thigh and only that you will stay in the saddle if you hang on and stick with em

my best friend had a fall 6 years ago the actual fall wasnt bad she just lost her balance and flipped off over her horses shoulder but her foot got stuck and she got dragged and she hit her head on a metal gatepost while her horse was going at a full gallop and it killed her :( i still miss her so much but it didnt stop me riding cause i know it was a freak accident and i still have her horse

my worst fall was when i was riding a shetland pony and he was spooked by a tractor i got thrown in to the hard matal fence that hake some wire around it.... it has been 3 years and my injuries haven't gone away yet

I was riding my friends horse Casper he was solid white and i was going over a jump that was 3.6 ft. (my first time) and the horse just got spooked by somthing and we were right up at the jump to her reared, backed up and the jumped over the jump! My foot fell out of the stirip (right foot) and flew off the side landing on my left side breaking my arm. It hurt!
listen if you treat your horse well and build trust with him/her she will trust you and him/her will never hurt you on purpose. trust me! horse with good owners always go farther and have more spirit!
My first Fall , i was on trail , my horse was going full speeed ( faste then a gallop) annd she stopeed right in her tracks as i was up her neck .... ahahahaaha ... and my last fall so far , my horse rolled ontop of me ! :S
My last fall i was puttin the 3rd ride on a BLM and she spooked and blew up, after 3x buckin round the ring she lost her footing and smashed me underneath her crushing my left leg and giving me a concussion.. ugh casts :p
I`ve broken and smashed 28 bones so far, but since i changed to riding western i havent fallen off one time Lol. Gotta love them Quarter Horses ;D I Have an arabian though whos the sweetest horse evr :) I could ride her even when i had a broken leg and smashed foot lol ^___^ Cool vid!

I have been riding for 4-5 years and fell off 12 times. Some were bad but i got right back up and rode again. i try to avoid the bad falls. :)

@BackInTheSaddle4 omg, right? I fell off my horse when he spooked about a suspicious-looking pile of hay in the field. Somehow he had done 180 lept sideways & bucked all at once (freaking talented kid I suppose). He's got tiny little shoulders so I couldn't help but fall forward & I fell after losing my stirrup & him bucking some more. Like an idiot I stood back up & ran after him (he was heading towards the road). XS I should've done what you said. I was hurting pretty bad after that =S

Poor horses and riders... I feel bad for the horses because if the riders get crushed not on purpose and their bond is close.. imagine the pain the horse feels. I should know, my grandpa had a friend who love his horse. The horse got scared walking to his STALL and stomped his friend to death..... Horse was so sad i bet he died from a broken heart....

i hate how people always laugh or say riding is stupid because its not, and its a hard hard sport!! i have had bad falls, and i have seen my friends brake bones and hurt themselves and it is not fun to watch!!

i am 13 and i have fallen off soo may times, i had to learn how to ride a horse bareback before riding with a saddle and that included jumping and all!

Really, riding isn't any more dangerous than, say baseball, or hockey. You can be critically or fatally injured from getting hit in the chest with a 70 mph hardball or getting a puck to the face. It's just a lot harder to predict the injuries and accidents because horses are living things and don't always do what they're told to.

im 13 years old and i was breaking in a 11h pony..it was going ok..so we started on jumping..he jumped around 3 times but then he flung me off right at the jump..i landed on 2 poles and realy hurt my back..it put me of jumping but not riding..but now i am back in to jumping(little)
and the 11h pony(smokey) is a jumping star:'D

@demigreeney i rose a 17.2hh jumper and was jumping 3 foot 9. my horse landed on an oxer falling down and rolled over top of me squishing me between him and the poles. he got back up and i was still on him. i didnt jump for a long time... years really but i have been jumping agian thanks to a real nice little quarter horse who is my confidence builder cuz he loves to jump :) takes time but you'll get back to it soon enough

my horse and i have been together for 4 years and i have fallen off 47 times. he is a bucker and a duck 'n' dive horse, but everytime i get back on and go again because equestrians rock!!!!!!! 4 years and hes just starting getting it that im not going to let him get away from it!!

ive fallen off 11 times. We go by the phrase your a good rider when you fall of at-least 7 times but you are a real rider when you forget. pain, ER visits, broken bones... Thats all part of the fun so when someone comes up to me and says im an amazing rider because ive never fallen off im like no you suck and you have only ridden 1 time ive been for 9 years!!!

if we wouldn't ride horses, falls like them wouldn't happen, and no horse will die or be hurt of us. when i see videos like this, i always think: "the horses are so frightened theyr're in pain if they die or not."
but i love riding, and I hope my horse wouldn't been hurt in such a bad fall. love horses :D

just a cuple days ago on saterday during my lessen i fell on the jump hit my head and i ttryed to stop my self from hiting my head again but i spraiend my wrist then the horses hind lag clip me in the head and then i was nocked unconshice then last thing i remember was my horse coming over and shifing my head then 7and 1\2 hours later i wock up in the hospitial the leat me come home to day

it not how they CAN be it is they are dangerous everytime you get on a horse you have to think i do this because i love it dont let my fears over come me. I will tell you my story.... i just got a new horse and he was acting weird but i was going to ride at a friends house so i determined to get him into the trailer i got madder and madder and he felt it soon he finnaly had enough turn his butt on me and kicked me straight into the ribs i fell back breathless but luckly to be alive.

I fell off twice and my dad caused it once the other one was my trainer.
And I ALMOST fell off.

oh, I hate steeplechasing and racing - almost every race, there is a horse that gets hurt... or killed! And in the calgary stampede this year, ten horses were killed!! who can support that? it was most likely the wagon racing that they died in

i have a little pony that luvs to kill me. after i got sentr to the ER for an head injury we had to sell her cuz she became a hazard. I fell off her atleast 20 times in 3 years from her galloping than spining when you don't expect you really must just try again

a few months ago i was riding in the paddock and i had this crazy idea to jump a fallen branch i was cantering towards it when my horse had tripped in a rabbit hole and went ass over head i was thrown into the air missing a tree by inches when i got back up i didn't worry about my self i ran straight to my horse which was already up off the groung then i discoverd the had fallen on her nose and started to bleed but other then a bleeding nose and a grazed knee she was fine.

i fell off recently a young horse i was exercizing for mi stables as soon as i got on it rodeoed off wif me nd i hit mi hip nd smacked mi head pretty hard off the ground mi instructor said if the horse was any bigger i would have prob been knocked out and wif broken bones aswel it is not a safe sport but it is really great when you have all the thigs go right when your riding

i ride western i come from a rodeo family i've fallen off when i was 3 had to have stitches when i was 6 i had a horse atempt to buck me off he failed & when i was 14 i got bucked into a barbwire fence & had to have 44 stitches in my leg just from my knee up & I never cried its the was real cowgirls are raised....now i'm 15 and running barrel COWGIRL UP OR GET OVER YOURSELF

When I was ten I fell off my old pony, Silver. But my foot got caught in the stirrup and I was taken around the arena by him several times in canter, his hooves hitting my face more than once. 3 weeks later, I got back on him. If that was a footballer, they would have sat there, made it out worse than it was, cried, and never gone near a horse again. Now YOU decided which one is the real sport.

Some people may think riding is dumb & so are horses, but its no different than sky diving & all the other crazy stuff. Yeah bad stuff happens but horses always give something special back to you that keeps you coming! My last fall was a concussion but that isn't stopping me!

In order to be a good rider you have to fall off multiple times to learn what you did wrong and how to correct it. I have had multiple leg and knee surgeries because of one bad fall but I haven't fallen like that since because I know what I did wrong and I will never do it again!

poor horses :s because when you fal with your horse you can go to the hospital and mostly it will be alright but lots of horses are so delicate they can't recover and are put down xs the lucky ones can stay alive but nomore top sporting for them :) its always the best when nothing happens to both of you ! :D

one thing ive learned from barrel racing. and riding horses in general. Dont always blame the horse. Because its not normally the horses fault. Its normally the riders fault. Sometimes horses are jerks, but next time your horse does something wrong or bucks or rears or does something... think about if it was the horse or YOU.

I hav a resgisterd American Quarter horse with other breeds in him,and his gaits r rlly bumpy,my instructor says it's like being on a jacked truck going 30 mph over speed bumps.I fall all dhee time,I have had bones broken.And I am still riding and continuing my dream as a barrel racer

my best friend had a fall 6 years ago the actual fall wasnt bad she just lost her balance and flipped off over her horses shoulder but her foot got stuck and she got dragged and she hit her head on a metal gatepost while her horse was going at a full gallop and it killed her :( i still miss her so much but it didnt stop me riding cause i know it was a freak accident and i still have her horse

the last time i fell off i was thrown then dragged 30ft and my mustang ran off and i was supposedly laying on the ground then my neighbor came over woke me up and i keep asking "wheres my horse wheres my horse" i ended up with a concussion and and road rash lol but i still go out every day and ride ... people shouldnt talk bad about something till they try it lol i was the first to ride her and ill be the last

when i was about 6 i was flung off a horse into a fence and then trampled by 3 other horses. it hurt! did that stop me? no! thats cause us equestrains are tough! i bet if that happened to a footballer they would lie there and make a huge fuss and never ride again.

my worst fall was when i was riding a shetland pony and he was spooked by a tractor i got thrown in to the hard matal fence that hake some wire around it.... it has been 3 years and my injuries haven't gone away yet

ive had times like that. my helmet is what saved me. it shattered my jaw and they said if i wasntt wearing my helmet it would of shatterd my skull haha this is a dangerous sport!

@alliwanadoisride i was trying to get one of my old lesson horses to trot and for some reason(he might of spooked,i am still not sure why) and he started galloping,finnaly,i couldent hold on anymore,and i fell right on the top of my head....i also almost got stepped on..

I was riding my friends horse Casper he was solid white and i was going over a jump that was 3.6 ft. (my first time) and the horse just got spooked by somthing and we were right up at the jump to her reared, backed up and the jumped over the jump! My foot fell out of the stirip (right foot) and flew off the side landing on my left side breaking my arm. It hurt!

My first Fall , i was on trail , my horse was going full speeed ( faste then a gallop) annd she stopeed right in her tracks as i was up her neck .... ahahahaaha ... and my last fall so far , my horse rolled ontop of me ! :S

My last fall i was puttin the 3rd ride on a BLM and she spooked and blew up, after 3x buckin round the ring she lost her footing and smashed me underneath her crushing my left leg and giving me a concussion.. ugh casts :p
