@loveyouohka lmao, if you or anyone is interested in playing this one, this is in Taito Legends 2 (taito games compilation disc for ps2 and PC, which has like 30 games, and can be bought online from amazon). Good thing the compilation added the possibility of having infinite continues, otherwise I would never beat this one.

@pedrozut If you have a captured enemy you can hold the fire button to sacrifice it and you will use this laser. If your captured enemy was a captain the laser is stronger and if you counter a Beta-Beam of a boss and rapidly press the fire button you can absorb its strength so your Alpha Beam gets even more powerful.

Why is that great 2D polygonal sidescrollers (topper's too)like G-Darius here needed to go the way of the Dodo Bird as soon as it was possible and playable to make 3D shooters. They just aren't the same. Love Gradius, R-type and Einhander.

Different styles I guess. R-Type Delta is a very dark game, and a lot more varied in environments and enemies. Darius has more simple color palates, and it was an earlier PS1 title, so it could be just that. Its a lot more polygonal than R-Types 3D Sprites.

ps2 version is many many times better, you miss the ps1 extras such boss attack mode, but it has 0 slowdown, while the ps1 version becomes a slideshow in some places(which actually might help tough if you not good at shooters :P)
