  • what's the fuel consumption per 100km ?

  • i was at school that day i think i didnt want to leave home :( i almost saw the lift off now i can watch it on youtube made history

  • What an achevement

  • @CaseyIsHotnPregnant Yah man, you deleted one of your comments you fucking coward, you "yellow turd" god damn thats the weakest insult I have ever gotten, hahaha

  • the next space flight for American will be on November 30, 2011 they will be flying on the Spacecraft calls the Dragon C2

  • @sideslide23 No people will be flying. Thats years away...

  • Is such a bullshit... end with the space shuttle program.. this is prolly the most complex machine ever made! ...few years ago...concorde...now space shuttle fuck this, who will be the next? I respect US space program, from brazil.

  • Nasa are hitching a ride with the Russians for a wile, there still working on future projects but they wont be doing anything major until theres more money.

  • Comment removed

  • i like it so much ^^

  • this shits crazy

  • i wonder where they sent it sorry i don't know

  • What will NASA do to get back some funding?

    cough *deception point* cough ;)

  • I was lucky to see this in person, and to clear up confusion; this is not the last time we are sending people into space... its just the last time the space shuttle is sending people into space. There is commercial planes they are developing to send people into space. NASA is onboard with that.

  • Love it!

  • @CaseyIsHotnPregnant Obama will keep 10000 jobs in America if he kept NASA going, so if you don't like Obama and don't appreciate the USA, get the fuck out before you get hunted out you pussy

  • @itsNards you aint nothing but a gutless yellow terd, Ron Paul should be the next president.

  • Why would they stop goin to the moon??

  • @lopezson714 It's called money.

  • @budyboy4404 Yeah apparently most Americans cant afford 1/2 a penny on a dollar. Boy, that just ruins my rainy day fund. I guess it makes sense because the average american saves only $392 every year.

  • thats it im moving to china

  • They'll bring it back, I'd bet anything!

  • Truly the end of an era. Godspeed, Atlantis.

  • @CaseyIsHotnPregnant No, it's dumb fucks like you that pisses me off, does the truth hurt Casey?

  • @CaseyIsHotnPregnant thanks for the comment, and shut the fuck up now? k, thanks

  • Look closely, Lebron travels

  • Thankyou NASA

  • the narration is cool, sounds like rap around 0:46-1: 33 :)

  • for many things i dislike about USA (opressing 3rd world countries) i take my hats off just for the sake of NASA. For this sake, Americans have full right to be proud of NASA!

  • Ya, Fuck America. Fuckin fat heads. America fucks other countries then kills them.

  • Ya, the U.S. has never been the greatest country. Only the U.S. thinks its the greatest country, no one else does. SELF PROCLAIMED

  • @Zigazigah99 go fuck yourself, bro.

  • @lalobeasty21 Ha I guess i hit a nerv eh southernman? Self Proclaimed. I love the USA, team Canada's only hockey competition. We love to beat your fag hockey players up.

  • What? I dont get it how is this the last....

  • LOL, people shouldn't be in space anyway.

  • Goodbye sweet prince, you will be missed.

  • Russia is now charging $50 mil a head now to send Americans to space instead of the $20 mil they used to charge. thanks Obumbles. now we hitch rides like third world rathole banana republic countries.

  • @uzimodem okay racist

  • @SuperBlackChic racist? why is that you race baiting bitch? explain your accusation if that is possible with your limited ebonics intellect.

  • @uzimodem Im not a big Obama fan but I think he made a good choice.

It takes 1 Million+ Dollars to launch a Shuttle into space, When you have 50+ Trillion Dollars in Debt its hard to launch 1 Million+ Dollar Rockets into space.

  • @AccessDenied55 :for every $1 the govt spends, Nasa gets .01 penny!!! ONE PENNY!!! I think that we can give 2 cents per dollar to keep this country ahead of the Russians and certaninly the Chinese. plus we are only $13 trillion in debt (projected amount if we continue to do nothing.) If we dont keep up, we will regret. I will go along with Neil Armstrong and Gene Cernan on this....they know what they are talking about. A moon occupied by China!!! what a disaster!!!

  • Oh, and for thirty-year-old vehicles that leave and re-enter the Earth's atmosphere, the shuttles held up damn well. BUT, technology has improved since we built them, and we can do better now.

  • The reason for the end of the shuttle program is that the shuttles are old and beaten up. They paused missions for a while after the Columbia disaster in 2003 and considered shelving the program at that point. I'd rather see the shuttle program ended and a new fleet of vehicles built than see more men and women killed in preventable disasters.

  • i think its a cover-up for something their trying to launch into space without us knowing...i guess they think that if they end it...then eventually they can launch things without us knowing... but i dunno man... i know the government is up to something with this one...you dont just shut down a multi billion dollar asset over funds, when your funding a war that cost billions more...WTF?...i wish the people had a say in this...this is fucking retarted

  • I dont get it. Why final space shuttle launch? explain

  • @GANJABLUNTS Old ass shuttles can't handle the current demands for travel . And the USA are trying to get to Mars and the old space shuttles just won't cut it .

Thumbs up if it help you !

  • @shockwave2k11 Shuttles were not even designed to go beyond earth orbit. If they were brand new they could not go to Mars.

  • @shockwave2k11 thumbs up is also a currency now?

  • @GANJABLUNTS

It's quite complicated. Due to the high cost of running this program(despite how much we spent on wars -.-) the government voted to shut down the space shuttle program. Also the shuttles are quite old.

  • @Ctasker5 oh okay thats pretty simple. people would belive that. YOU ACTUALLY THINK THEYRE GONNA STOP DOIN MISSIONS TO OUTER SPACE? HELL NO!! THIS IS THE BIGGETS THING AMERICA HAS DONE IS GO TO SPACE!! they probably have a bunch of space secret missions. and it ALL INVOLVES THE US GOVERMENT

  • @GANJABLUNTS AND billions of dollars

  • @ArtIsTheWeapon021 haha shit;)

  • We need to go to Mars next. 8 people, 1,500lbs of cargo, 1.7Billion dollar program, Going to space = Priceless!! Hopefully NASA will start the Mars program and start hiring more people. And as far as going to the International space Station, the private sector will have to invest on it. If something happens and a meteor hits the earth, maybe people can live in the space station but I bet it will be very very expensive.

  • @bikemtn Just how large do you think the International Space Station is? Very few people can live in it, If a meteorite hit the earth why go to the space station ?

  • @allexx123 the international space station is very small and why go to the space station if we get hit? maybe to survive the impact but that's about it.

  • What is it about loud booming and fire that we humans love so much? Nothing like being there in person, the sound is fantastic. I love seeing and hearing this I guess it is something greater and more powerful than ourselves. I had saw only 3 space flights go up and one of them was Apollo 11. My uncle used to work at the Cape.

  • omg!

  • wait so no more space shuttles??

  • looks like we got few thousand more unemployment checks going now.

  • America, fuck yeah! Comin again to save the mothafuckin day yeah!

  • @lobomuerto11 How are you saving the day by launching a space shuttle?

  • @M3aaaqHD I'm not...America is?

  • @lobomuerto11 Ok, How is america saving the day by launching a space shuttle?

  • @M3aaaqHD Because it inspires hope in this fucked up world. America is keeping the upper atmosphere safe from space terrorists. You should be thankful.

  • @lobomuerto11 Fuck america.

  • @M3aaaqHD Nono it's america, fuck yea! You were close though.

  • i couldnt see part of it at the begining because of the thing at the bottom that says The final space lauch

  • @willowbrook520 straight up man, it might as well be the last space flight. We are to busy spending a shit ton of cash on crap like football and the Calgary Stampede

  • Comment removed

  • thas the scary ride

  • I was there it was A M A Z I N G

  • @TheGreenbucks It brings tears to my eyes to see this. Being there, feeling it, there is nothing else like it. You can't get the full impact on TV as being there that is forsure. I do not live in Florida, but have been there to see 3 go up. I hope that there will be another USA ship to go up one day again. It is a shame to see it end like it did for the moon missions.

  • @allexx123 I am envious that you got to actually witness a lift-off' I bet that is amazing- to to see, hear and the vibration must feel like an earthquake, right??? You are so lucky !!!

  • @U2wild I have never been in an earthquake so do not know for sure. It is like sonic booms going off but many like how at the end of a 4th of July fireworks ends when they shoot off tons of them all at once, like popcorn but really really loud and the earth thumps as well as your body. Look up very loud space shuttle breaking sound barrier, and you sorta get the idea, but not quite since it is only video of it and speakers can only go so loud.

  • Now we Are gonna have to pay the russians to get to space unheard of the people who had a space race to get to moon and alll the other shit and money we spent to get past and beat the russians now we are at there mercy with space flight retarted TIME FOR REVOLUTION LETS STAND UP FOR OUR RIGHTS AND TAKE BACK FREEDOM AND THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE HUMAN RACE BUT WE CAN NOW NOT EVEN GET TO SPACE THAT DON"T SOUND AS WE ARE ADVANCEING NOT AT ALL TO ME

  • @alligatorsatecaylee how could you even say that...that is messed up man

  • thats a bunch of BS we havent even gone to mars yet plus theres to much that we dont know up there and we need to know -.-

  • I'm from Poland and i have said...i miss from the space shutlle

  • i wish i was there but it was cool to watch live usa usa usa i want to go to space when we go back

  • Just got back this morning from florida and me and my girlfriend went to watch this from the causeway, it was honestly the most sureal awesome moment of my life!

  • @willowbrook520 ohh thanks, i thought it was the last space flight lol

  • Imagine what the astronauts are thinking when they hear that countdown.. must be the scariest thing ever.

  • @gamer12362 They are so busy with what they have to do, it is their job not be scared. . They know that they could face death if things go wrong on the way up or down, but they are all dedicated to their fullest to do their job, as well as rely on the many people that have to get everything ready for the flights and make sure to the best of their ability that the flight will be a sucess.

  • Comment removed

  • they are shutting it down because scientists finally discovered that 12-21-12 will happen and they need the money to make super boats to save the human race from extinction.

  • what does it mean by final launch? is that the last one USA are ever sendung up ?

  • Yall Are Nuts. your not even supposed to be in space!.it says it in the bible!.smhh

  • @rillobeats LOL where does it say that ? In Biblical days the flights of the Anunnaki Wow'd the human population with the unforgettable fire and loud thunder just like the rocket boosters do today for us. The power and the glory of the god's spaceships.

  • i stepped out my front door and saw it!

  • dont you guys understand! the reason this is the last shuttle is because they have possibly invented a new way of space traveling? just a hunch but it sound better than some of the comments in here ... just saying

  • @Guitar4Education

    No. You're an idiot.

  • @Guitar4Education It could be so. Now if the Aliens would be helpful in technology for us that would be a plus. We have to get away from the rocket fuel method and get anti-gravity. But the human race is too dangerous for that yet. We have to try and settle Earth violence problems and poverty, and stop the money going to useless wars.

  • @allexx123 exactly ! and same with military! they should stop wasting money on more nukes and get over themselves for the good of the people! as of now this world has enough nukes to blow up the world 6 times over ..... how can you take that lightly? you shouldnt and we should all just get along and stop building more ways to destroy this beautiful world that we are slowly destroying.. they need a more innovative ways of getting along (resource wise)! Long live America! and btw im Canadian

  • wait i dont get this is this the last rocket getting lauched?

  • I watched this In my summer school class and i went crazy haha

  • nasa not sending anything more private companies going to send people or other countries.

  • WOW that's so awesome..........

  • im not too big on conspiracy theories, but something is tells me that if this is the last space shuttle taking living people to space, there is something they are hiding out there ;)

  • @thatsodiesel They are....... haven't you watched Transformers dark of the moon yet?! lol

  • I was going to go and my mom asked me today if I wanted to go. Then we found out it was yesterday! :( WE ARE SO DUMB!

  • Wait are we done going to space or is this just the last time this shuttle will be used i am confused?

  • @corfroo China & Russia will continue Space exploration, don't worry

  • @corfroo new technology?

  • I thought we were going to mars in 2020 or something

  • @drewducote why would we?

  • Is being the greatest country in the world not important anymore?

  • @CannedKoolaid :not for liberals. they have to tear us down, make us pay for our misdeeds, and being a superpower and using all the oil and other libturd fantasy bullshit.

  • @uzimodem hell yeah. amen . If there were no liberals in this country we would be thriving

  • @CannedKoolaid :so true.

  • @CannedKoolaid Only to Americans's.

  • @Earlejam your a fucking idiot. Destroying NASA will not help the economy. It is destroying the last good economy in America, Houston, Texas. NASA has created more jobs than it has sent shuttles. We can afford NASA, actually we NEED NASA, to send shuttle because not only does it provide fresh information of our universe but it also insures 100,000's of jobs, possibly even more.

  • @Debbster14 i live in houston and i don't give a shit. i don't know anyone who works for nasa.

  • @Theozoner1 Now it's 30 year rule? Ha! You're an obvious troll but I'll feed you just once more, the entire budget of NASA for half a century equals the same budget for the military for the next two years. Science, education, engineering, technology, exploration....yeah a "waste" and "drain". You're an idiot, go back to a Cave.

  • @Theozoner1 40 year rule? What? NASA was funded under the National Aeronautics and Space Act of 58, which is older than 40 years old. It is a part of the executive branch and funds are granted by Congress.

  • I remember watching the first shuttle take off in the 4th grade. It was awesome then and still is. The communist nations never matched that space achievement either.

  • I lived half my life on the cape. I have seen years of launches from 1984-1995 and how I wish I could have been there for this last launch...I cried.

  • i saw it from my house

  • goosebumps

  • Wait WTF? I don't get it? this is probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard of.

  • Big mistake on Obama's behalf, i wish the UK could afford a program such as NASA

  • :3

  • How lucky we are to be able to see this? Anyone born after this day will not to be able to tell their Grandchildren about being around when the NASA Program was in effect! Kinda cool if you think about it?!? But you also have to have interest in it as well. I wonder what's next, in the future of Space?

  • Obamas new saying should be " I.Fucked.Up "

  • @cheepofilms why...this was in the works to happen for years before he took office. Its just like with the Apollo missions they just did not have the money to keep it going.

  • I don't understand. Why is NASA ending their Space Shuttle program? I didn't hear anything about this...

  • @OreoVII money. that's pretty much it.

  • the maths involved in getting that shuttle to so accurately head towards the space station, blows my mind

  • I wanted to be an astronaut when i grow up. too bad

  • waste of money, and boring now

  • @scotty77a You're an idiot.

  • well, all those dreams i had of becoming a rocket scientist in america while growing up are shot.

  • Obama shut down NASA. From now on we will use RUSSIA or CHINA to launch our satellites into space. Of course we lose 10,000 related jobs but that does not matter to Obama the commie. All future wars will be won by who ever controls space. If you voted for "OBAMA THE COMMIE" thanks a lot!

  • @AwsomeGuyx I agree. Obama is ruining everything that America stood for.

  • @AwsomeGuyx No he didn't.

  • @AwsomeGuyx You're an idiot. You call Obama a commie and yet NASA is a federal, public paid agency. You want to blame someone, blame all those stupid tea party republicans in Congress who rather continue to fund idiotic wars, and allow the rich to go untaxed while cutting science and exploration.

  • @AwsomeGuyx Your an Idiot. Would you rather have NASA keep sending shuttles to space or focus our money on our economy and our jobs here on earth?! Critics think Obama is supposed to fix everything at once instantly, even though a weak economy and huge amounts of debt were thrown at him when he took office. I love NASA and space exploration but some things need to be done so that our economy can at least improve to the point where we can somewhat afford to send spacecraft back into space.

  • so what's next?? back to the saturn 5 rockets?

  • i was there on a cruise on july 7th

  • America wont continue the dream, this is the last flight.... jeeze how dumb is the presentator?

  • @alan517815 This is the end of the program. NASA will now develop a new way to continue space travel.

  • @manofarms89 You mean in tourism?

  • @alan517815 NASA is going to take at least five years developing a new kind of space vehicle. Maybe even two. One for just going between the ISS and Earth. Another for deeper travel. This isn't the end of NASA, as others have incorrectly stated.

  • @alan517815 actually they just arent sending the same shuttle, theyre going to make a new one, so saying the end of NASA is just dumb.

  • @pacloro lol how are they going to make a new shuttle? They can hardly operate with the funding they have, and now the government wants to cut their funding by billions.

  • I don't get it, why is this history? haven't people gone into space before?

  • @fir3gun /facepalm do you have any idea what this flight was about ? - the last Nasa program... no more missions to space

  • @MMOTotal LOL stfu buddy you don't know what you're talking about. This was the last manned shuttle mission to space, they're engineering new technologies and contracting out missions to private companies which will bring astronauts to the iss. That is going to start somewhere in the middle of the decade.

  • @BoysIncorporated101 Yes, but this is the LAST space mission of the original shuttle design/technology -

  • @MMOTotal Ok... I know that. How is that anywhere close to "no more missions to space"?

  • I live right near it.I get a front row view everytime.Isee every launch :) its an amazing view. The best view is at night:)

  • if i could have one wish for my whole life it would be to see a launch live.

can someone in the know please tell me what sort of smell if any can be smelt by on lookers when a shuttle lifts off

  • so many people are going to lose jobs @ nasa and cape Canaveral is not going to be the same because people came for the shuttle launch and were suppose to be gaining jobs not losing and now russia is going to be ahead of us not what i wanted to hear and now people are also trying to do private shuttles which is not going to work so good as the space shuttle

  • after hearing about this, i wont the war to end now just so this can get funding, and im a big supporter of the war.

  • Just amazing. I wish this wasn't the end of the NASA shuttles. NASA has done a ton of amazing work bringing humanity into space.

Sucks knowing I won't be around when space travel becomes the norm.

  • god bless evaluation

  • This reporter is fucking retarded. "We probably won't see another machine like that in our lifetime"!!??!! Maybe if you die in the next 3-5 years that's true.

  • so why is it the final space shuttle launch? and will this mean no new rovers?

  • @IIZODIIAC Government conspiracies. There's more than just 'no money'.

  • @IIZODIIAC thier just not gonne be anymore manned space shuttlers, thiers still gonna drones and shit like that

  • @TheMagiclaker32 best news i heard all day : ) i thought it was NASA shutting down all together : )

  • Its sad to think the next manned shuttle will be built and launched from China. I saw the models of it in ChengDu. They also plan to go to the moon soon and begin mining it.

  • Those astronauts are the luckiest people

  • @MiamiBeach1990 Luck nothing. They worked their ASSES off for decades to get there.

  • @MiamiBeach1990 yeah, with the weightless ness and the floating and the major Gs... and the horrible food...

  • @MiamiBeach1990 unless this one crashes too

  • Awesome. Totally Freakin' Awesome.

    Such power, such beauty.

Very sad to see this wonderful vehicle get put to rest.

To my friends at NASA: I salute you all.

    Wonderful job. Thank You :)

    MadMark

  • "On the shoulders of the space shuttle, America will continue the dream."

  • @mitchell1992666 gotta love the propoganda, lol

  • i was in floriday last year and we were supposed to see the shuttle launch. they cancelled it. and that pretty much ruiened my whole trip because i love rockets >:-(

  • aw i always wanted to see a shuttle launch from up close, i guess i nvr will now :(((
