  • salam for Guru Eric Kruk..

    great video..

  • Salam. very low stance, reminds me of the silat I learned in primary school. I forgot almost everything about it now..

cimande67, are you learning silat in the US?

  • salam...

    from malaysian silat....

    go practice...

    yeahhh...

  • is it important to slap the ground? just asking.. O_o

  • @koalalumpar I have the same question. I'm guessing it's to allow your momentum to rebound and then direct it into the enemy?

  • nice erick

  • Nice. Capable ground fighting is a huge advantage in a fight.

  • Awesome, looks likesoem of the first movements I learned from Silat :D Does anyone knwo where I can get these kinds of music for training?:P

  • Thankyou for your positive feedback .. The music I used was actually just composed by a editer in parts.. You can look for tradtional Sumatra music on line or in stores.. Some good music is called Gongs and Vocal from West Sumatra. Hopefully that will help you out a little.. Salams ...

    Eric

  • silat has some cool sweeps and ground kicks

  • what colour your belengkung?

  • Very nice video Guru Kruk! That is my all-time favorite kick. Hope you are doing well down there in sunny Arizona while we brave this dreadful Michigan snow.

  • He trains me and let me tell you something.

Not because I am trained by him, but this are the best martial arts ever, I respect all other arts, but this is great martial arts

  • This is great but in my country this art is not very famous.

  • wow..cool moves...

  • excellent video, I learned a lot from it.

  • Excellent demo, thanks for sharing.

  • Beautiful and devastating fighting style!!

  • looks dangerous

  • yeah that technique works... i got kicked in the head myself, sparring on the ground against a harimau practioner.... tko! nice drills

  • Looks Great, and effective!!!!! GREAT Drills!!!!!!!!!Looks like great exercise!!!!!!

  • One thing that can be observed with foreigners training silat is that the training is not as brutal, as you said it looks like exercise. But genuine training among real Malays is absolutely painful and vicious even for the beginners and young ones, and we do not skip the fine subtleties that many foreigners miss. Just one day of trg will leave you sore and bruised and your ego shattered but will make you self-realise exceeding how much more your mind body can take.
