As a much younger child (5-12) I could not possibly grasp the concept that someone could mistake memory for imagination or vicee versa, but, now that I'm a little older (16) I do it practically all the time. Not for important details or events that happened, but just for meaningless diologue.
I did not claim to think of the comparison myself... in fact anyone who follows Wayne at all and knows the Flaming Lips has heard the 'Pet Sounds' of the 90's comparison...
Yoshimi has been described that way since earlier this century.
Not saying the metaphor is common knowledge, but calm down i have no intentions on trademarking it lol...
I feel like I can credibly assert the comparison the critics have made on the basis that I am a huge fan of 'Pet Sounds' and of the Beach Boys for that matter (specifically Brian Wilson) and I know its unique significance in music production history.
haha I randomly saw him in the nike store in Chicago right before Lollapalooza. he really stood out because he was wearing a tight suit like that while everyone else was in shorts and tshirts :)
Wayne Coyne strikes me as the type of guy that you could just talk to for hours about nothing but come away with a lot. He is the coolest musician ever.
Lennon gives him a run for his money, however he is one of the coolest living musicians. And an amazing thinker. (even though it's in that stoned-banter style of speaking, he really has tons of good points)
I believe he stopped a while ago. Just because he's talking about something you can't understand, that doesn't mean it's drug induced. The fact of the matter is that we don't have enough means of research to figure out the human mind. Besides, how do you think tall tales come into being? They start in the basis of reality and after time, the collective minds of their keepers distorted the facts to be unrealistic. I'd hate to draw the comparison with all biblical literature, but I just did.
I adore Wayne. To me, he is one of the most inspirational and unique musicians today! And a stud muffin.
LOL! He is also clearly into Los Drogas. This metaphor is, seriously, the exact poignant bullshit that one comes up with on acid.

@helloaloah "poignant bullshit" Your mind imagines things up for you when you can't remember aspects of a memory.

onions are more powerfull than water?
cabezon98 4 years ago
Yes. The taste and smell of an onion over power that of water. Without going into to a lecture about how hydrocarbons work, that's the jist of it.
