  • What flashlight was that?

  • The only knife review I've seen with philosophy in it! I completely agree, kindness to our fellow brothers is very important. The 14th Dalai Lama said "This is my philosophy. No need for temples. No need for complicated philosophy. The philosophy is kindness..." I have that on a poster-thingy hanging on my wall...btw, one of the best knife reviews I've seen on the internet as of yet, definitely gonna have to get my hands on both hissatsus (though I think this one may be my EDC utility folder)...

  • Bob should do more reviews.

  • You're a nice guy Jeff. Thanks for the review.

  • I have a question about the knife. Is it possible to tighten the tention screw from its normal position so that the knife springs out faster and with more power? And ofc, could there be any theoretical improvements, like if you're in a self defence position, a faster springing knife could mean alot to the ending.

  • what flashlight is that? i want one!!

  • I have the hissatsu 2 folder (smaller version) I like it alot, and am now thinkin of getting the big brother. Thanks for the review. -Ziggy

  • @CryoQuench okay...I guess historians like Karl Friday and the others on, say, iaido-l don't know what they're talking about, then. Good to know.

  • Hey Everyone, i recently bought this knife and find it quite hard to open, is this normal?

  • @spartan021595 That is the reason I decided not to buy this knife. I have heard by more than one person that this knife is hard to open like my Kershaw Salvo. Be careful, you will tear a thumbstub size hole in you thumb if you deploy it like you would in an emergency.

  • it seems like every CRKT knife you review, the price you say is always doubled on their site lol

  • @BelairUSN don't get them from the site, just search it on google, you'll get the lowest prices to pop up

  • hey what happened to Bob?

  • @z3160200 who the fuck is bob

  • Guys, there is no one "traditional" tanto shape. Different smiths made them in different styles, depending on the era, the smith's own experience, and the desires of the person commissioning the work. Kinda like today.

  • @roentgen571 whatever came 1st makes it traditional

  • @cutlerylover so yesterday my girlfriend was traditional?

  • @cutlerylover I don't know if anyone could say what shape came first. There are examples of tantos made by the same smith with different shapes, and there were thousands of smiths working over centuries...

  • If you look at a crkt hisshou or shinbu they use the traditional blade shape. Come on people im 13 and i know this.

  • Actually the traditional japanese tanto has a smooth curve not a secondary tip. The hissatsu is closer than the recon but not in the traditional style.

  • I wonder who keeps disliking these videos.. Probably soccer-moms who have a heart attack at the sight of a thumbtack.

  • I have carried this knife almost exclusively since February 2010. It is by far my favorite folding knife. Great deployment, solid lockup, and a super sharp point and edge. I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

  • were was this knife made?

  • do somthing nice and dont brag about it, dont tell everybody about it. i like that way of thinking but come on. i think you understand a cuple of thousend viewers is gonna watch this. and hearing you telling (wont say bragging) about it. so never say never. still like youre vids.

  • Sub to me as well, zippo, outdoors, cars, tv, videos coming soon thanks

  • I was JUST about to unsubscribe too haha, nice save buddy

  • I wouldn't want to use stinkywater28 as subscriber if I were you ;o

  • i realy want this knife and this review realy helpt me make up my mind thx man

  • If you tag MY name in the next video, I will give you a big, huge man hug the next time I see you!

  • Sob story.. I've always been nice to people, no one has ever shown any kindness back. It shows how today people are self centered. Yeah.. haha.. Very nice knife, starting to save up now. Could you possibly do a review on the "Ka-Bar ZK Kharon Zombie Killing Tanto Folding Knife" It's probably my favorite knife right now. Make my day if you reply hah. keep up the awesomeness.

  • I love all your videos jeff, but honestly... please please please do more knife videos! I miss them

  • wat about zippos

  • 600 bucks for a knife. thats crazy.

  • Bob said it cost $5 - $600.

  • im to lazzy to watch the whole video, how much does it cost?

  • @MrMuffin769 retail for about 100, but you can find it on the internet for about 50 - 60 (USD)

  • @BelairUSN thanks, I could have watched the video like 60 times by now, or could have looked it up on google, But I like to ask for help.

  • when are you gonna do a review on that ckc belt knife

  • i like bob,,, HOOOOWEVER i did go to e-bay to get this knife and i typed in CRKT black knife... lmfao

  • I love the fact you can defend yourself in the us with a gun or knife (i love the 1911 but in Great Britain no chance) but over here we don't need to carry weapons because they are harder to obtain so "it's 6 of one half a dozen of another"

  • haha stinkywater28!

  • thumbs up for more bob videos

  • never had a liner lock failing or heard of it from friends but i still have...errr...trust issues with them. they just don't look really robust for me so i actually like the idea of a "lock for the lock". though i can see why people would dislike it simply because of the extra working step.

  • @MrDerushingo if the pivot screws get very loose the liner lock will slip out of place, but they have to be very loose!

  • Good review! I also have a hissatsu folder and i really enjoy it.

  • that line where the angle changes is called the yokote.

  • Japanese tanto is a relay old model used by Japanese samurasis

  • poor recon :( broke his tip off, shouldnt a dun dat, hes just a boy

  • is there any bladeplay ? i have a bit of side to side play

  • bobs review was waaaaay better!

  • lost your jewelers loop ? i miss it :<

  • I can't even pretend to act that way... I already feel bad lol sorry

  • Do a silver video already you insensitive douche, or ill unsub and spit on a printed picture of your face! lol

  • shouldnt your pistol be a backup to your knife?maybe it was nutnfancy that said that a gun is the real last ditch defense i cant remember now..

  • THE BLACK KNIFE!!!

  • Why would I get an assisted opener vs an automatic? Well all legal issues aside, it's cheaper and just as fast. No need paying more money for the same end result.

  • @fidgetingfinch Are you saying that auto's are better? Cuz they each have their benefits, but its kinda hard to say all legal issues aside cuz thats basically the reason assisted knives were made. And autos are not necessarily cheaper, you might be able to get an off brand cheap one, but tell me once you find a microtech/benchmade auto for less than like 200 lol

  • I actually really like that knife, i might have to get it, Im a lefty so the reversible pocket clip and the symmetrical thumb disk cuts are nice. Probly would remove that auto lock thing, it'd probably be hard to close left handed with it, maybe not.

  • hey jeff would you take this knife over a kershaw blur tanto?

  • Could someone tell me about, which "huge folding kinves" there are?

  • @vitopetre Check some of the Voyager or Espada knives from Cold Steel. The longest blade length i have seen from them is 7.5 inches. I believe the Jeff has a Voyager X2 which has a 6 inch blade length.

  • hey its the black knife

  • Yes! I know, I can be extremely annoying but I really like ALL of ur vid cutlerylover!

    Keep em coming sir!

  • the only isue ive had with liner locking knives are the cheep ones

  • Jeff I liked Bob's review better. His was so much simpler and more entertaining. I bought this knife after Bob's review but now I'm going to sell it on ebay because of yours.

  • Jeff what are some other nice knives with a Japanese tanto blade?

  • What kind of flashlight is in your video and what other small flashlights can you recommend on the cheap side.

  • Let the bodies hit the floor!

  • About time u did a knife review I though the hot-sauce got to your head. Lol

  • I thought I could get this for $5 at sears?

  • jeff i love your knife videos for this reason, if i read the stats for a blade thats not 4 inch on a flip knife i wud not have gotten it but now im going to because i aw it in perspective of like real life but you should like compare it to a deck of cards or a credit card or something just saying like so he can see!!!!

  • Heyy Jeff, Could you suggest a very cheap knife that keeps a sharp edge? Cheers

  • @RedZephon CRKT Stainless Drifter. $15-20. I love it as much as my $50-100 American-made knives. It's just perfect in every imaginable way. Watch Nutnfancy's review of it. It's a hell of a lot of knife at very little cost.

  • Everything Bob said in ~3mins :)

  • Sorry to hear about your dog Bella I know she had a good life :) (I posted thus on hear because you shut down the comments on the other video)

  • maybe you can consider creating one or two other accounts? And post videos accordingly. If i were only interested in your knife videos, it would be annoying to see 4 vids/day about totally random stuff pop up in my subscriptions.

  • Knife

  • I thought you were just going to let Bob do the review and skip over that lol and I went on google and typed in Black Knife CRKT and there was no such thing lol...

  • @cutlerylover Japanese tanto looks cool, I love your variety of vids and cant wait to see what you have in store for us!

  • I'm looking for a good quality work knife that will last.. any suggestions?

  • Comment removed

  • Can you take out the auto-lock on this?

  • cool

  • jeff did bella pass away.......if she did that makes me sad cause i had a 1 year old puppy named bella that got hit by a car and passed :(

  • Do you have automatic knives?

  • Knives are for rapists! Lets do some philosophy videos! :)

  • @ArtisanTony no... just knives are tools

  • Please never do a Bob review again.

  • Yo, Dawg. I heard you like locks, so we put a lock on your lock, so you can unlock your lock while you unlock your blade.

  • Can you edc a straight razor for a week or so and make a video on your thoughts, plz =)

  • your the man jeff!

  • Yo did you get any zippos i subed when you made zippos and you said you collected them

  • LOL watch 21:45-end again. look for the irony.

  • @guitarheroman202 its an example, I do nice things every day of my life, this is the 1st time you heard of one ;)

  • @cutlerylover i know. i'm just giving you sh*t

  • Well done Jeff... However when are you reviewing more of the hot sauce in that box? Jk. My only constructive criticism is that's a long time to talk about a knife. That's almost my lunch break!

  • Awesome tags

  • If you tag my name in the next video, then you get $1 million :D

  • @cutlerylover Tag subscribers---> Profitss??

  • @NinjaOfTinFoil Attention-whoring teenagers should be banned from YouTube.

  • @Supermassively um..it was a joke -___-

  • this is exactly like the bob version, just less funny

  • WAit...I came here for gun and hot sauce reviews. I'm unsubscribing because you aren't catering to me. :p

(Translation: Great review, and can't wait to see more of whatever you put up!)

  • that is an awesome knife

  • the black knife

  • almost 75.000 subs

  • What's your opinion on Coldsteel Recon 1 Tanto? I have one, the blade isn't so good, if you have time, can you do a review of it, or how to sharpening it? thanks!

  • @BadAssPlayer69 /watch?v=0TirxqlcMFY

  • Annoying Orange: "KNIFE!!"

  • Phew, I was getting worried that Bob's review would be the only review of this lovely knife. Thanks Jeff, I really don't care what videos you put out, I'm always going to watch them (although I do prefer knife vids :P). You are such a good guy.

  • great jeff watever bob

  • hey jeff....ive been looking all over the internet trying to find a Benchmade model 42. i know that this knife is very popular ever since it was discontinued, do you any website that i can get a BM42 for under say 200-250 dollars? also in your personal opinion should i get a BM52 with a serrated blade or the 42? THANKS!!!

  • @BaYzX lol no. If you go to the forums you MIGHT be able to find a 42 for like 300+

It'd be almost impossible to get one for less than that

  • How is the coffee going Jeff?

  • Have you reviewed the M-tech? if not so then please do!

  • Sweet blade right there!

Have a good one my man!

  • jeff, really, don't listen to the bob haters,

its a fun bit your doing, it's real amusing, and i'll bet the folks that where hating had to adjust to the video, and after that they whould get the humor of it.. i hope, otherwise there humor is for shit ;p

but still, as beeing a perfectionist it's nice to see that your doing a 'real' review of the same knife, stil, thanks for doing the bob bit again, it's been a while :p

  • I love ur no compromises attitude about the assisted openers. I'm the same way. Ill say just get a fixed blade, just get an out the front... I just ordered a roachbelly and an ultratech btw... assissted openers make me think I'm gonna cut my thumb once it clicks out past it while I'm still pressing

  • I LIKE BOB BETTER haha jk

  • The assisted and unassisted versions ate the exact same except the unassisted version just doesn't have the torsion bar.

  • @StinkyWater28 as mentioned no reply gets left behind, lol I read them all, hundreds a day sometimes 1500 or more...I just cant always reply to them

  • too late i already shot up the place ;D

  • can you have spring assisted knives in southern ontario

  • @RagingOatmeal there legal everywhere in canada but check your by-laws just to make sure.

  • @RagingOatmeal You can have them anywhere in Canada, as long as you don't brandish it in public or conceal carry it... Actually, you can't even carry a knife... So just to confirm again, yes, you can own one in Southern Ontario, but don't get caught with it in public.

  • i want bob to do a Zippo review

  • @brendanspace bob... with fire.... I will giggle...

  • jeff were is your hotsauce video ???????? lmao

  • @pipesternch legal to buy and legal to carry are different. I can buy autos but they are illegal to carry in PA. So you may want to research it. An once of prevention is worth a pound of sitting in jail trying to make bail!

  • Oh the O-kissaki appeared after the 14th century. I guess you could say the hissatsu could be an elongated ko-kissaki as well. But not a traditional samurai sword shape.

  • i love gimpy

  • Why do they call that an "Americanized" tanto? I would call the hissatsu more modified than anything. The "Americanized" tanto is a Japanese design called Kamasu-kissaki used prior to the 14th century very rare to find today surviving blades outside of ceremonial swords used in buddhist temples which were protected indoors and not used or meant to be. The hissatsu is more of an elongated o-kissaki. Anyway any insight on this?

  • I don't have to worry if assisted knives are legal or not where I live. I'm pretty sure they are legal since I can go down to my local knife shop and buy anyone I want that they have in stock. Even if they don't have it in stock, they can special order most knives.

  • I think Jeff just hijacked Bob's channel. I'm reporting this!

  • my turn to be tagged Jeff!!!!!

  • What do you do for a job? :)

  • Bob's review was better.

  • no enthusiasm, he sounds like he's really doing it against his will just to please the viewers :D

  • @thegameismekok lol i'm just glad we're getting videos i was going bat sh*t crazy without my CL fix...

  • knife up the place is more like it.

  • Hey Jeff, please do review of the hot sauce that you hide in the bathroom cabinet. You know that Old SPICE!

  • "I don't have enough experience with stabbing things" XD

  • bob did alot better review lol

  • can you give us a new zippo collection vid if you still collect zippos?

  • ok so i take that back (after going back and rewatching the last vid lol)

  • I love this knife, almost as much as I love my Buck 119. :D I only have one flick knife, and it's a cheapo. :P

  • People want hot sause :D on a knife video

  • so jeff did you use the same video for both reviews and just change the voice over or am i just seeing stuff?

  • jeff when are you gonna make a vid about the edc drawer

  • jeff can you review that spray hot sauce?

  • I love all your vids there funny

  • @cutlerylover great vid jeff, got any gear reviews coming up?

  • @hitmanface He's not Gearlover, he's Cutlerylover :D .... J/k bro. I figured someone would say it. I like all his vids. Knives, gear, hotsauce, random... :)

  • liked bob's review more :D

  • I find it weird that half the fans are for knife reviews half are for hotsauce lol

  • When's the Wax Lips review coming?!?!?

  • 'i cant talk whit it in my mouth' thats what she said xD

  • Ah man, I only subscribed for the weight lifting videos. I'm going to unsubscribe if you don't upload another one soon! C'mon Jeff...

  • 2:03 its cheap, it works, its black!!!!!! 1 <3 slaves!!!

  • As far as paying it forward, ive been doing good deeds every day for years, and i get nothing in return, and most people in the world are greedy selfish a holes, so i doubt im paying anything forward.

  • i still like bobs review better :D

  • Thanks for the review!

  • bring back Bob, who is this Jeff guy?

  • Stab Bob with that. In the eye.

  • Smart fella. We wanna watch a review, not a retard talking about something. If i wanted to hear that, i'd go to the nearby disabled's home.

  • Hey man, knife videos, hot sauce vidoes, workout videos, its all good.

  • Comment removed

  • hotsauce and cooking vids, gogogo

  • hey thanks fucker! I enjoy all of them the bobb review was great//
