I have a friend who left the 7-10 split in our Saturday morning youth league one day, and he shot at the 10 pin for it. Then pin bounced out of the right corner of the pit and came back up onto the lane only to slide to within 6 inches of the seven pin and STOP. That was quite similar to this shot.

If you are leaving a ringing 10 pin, you are NOT hitting flush pocket in actuality. That's the most important thing to understand. You are hitting with a little *too much* angle and hitting just a hair light. If you hit a little lighter, the 6 will hit the side of the 10, if you hit a little higher, the 6 will go straight back into the 10.
