There are empty seats because it is in Mumbai and it is fairly obvious that the local crowd would NOT be so interested to see a match that does not directly concern them.

It does cost money and time to support your team and it is not easy for the die hards to come all the way from Chennai or hyderabad.

So I guess some of the above mentioned people residing in mumbai only came.

what the hell.. IPL semi final and not even half the stadium is full. Its really a bad decision to select mumbai for both semis and final.. i am not blaming mumbai but the fault is on IPL. had it been chennai it would have been wonderful.

all the semis and the final need to be held in the same venue.

they were originally scheduled to all be played in bangalore, but because of the attack they were moved to mumbai. mumbai were already into the final, and they had the best home ground, thats y it went to mumbai.

Before we jump to conclusions on the non-suitability of mumbai as a semi-final venue, let me remind you that the venue for the semis were moved at very short notice from b'lore to mumbai due to the bomb blasts. that may have been one of the causes for the sparse attendance.
