I can't say how reliable it would be, but theoretically you could charge batteries and such when there is sunlight, or switch to gas-powered or other generator types if needed.

Of course, the generator might come with its own battery storage, I don't know, I've never looked into that product personally. Don't have the money, and if that sort of thing does happen I'll just manage some other way.

If it shuts off the charge to the batteries when they are fully charged it should be very reliable. If it does not the deep cycle batteries will have to be replaced frequently. They should tell us how long it would run something like a standard box fan when charged so we could figure out if it is worth the money.
