I learned it this way

the first thing was the "melody part". I found out that the first part of it is only on the g-string, watched his fingers and wrote the fret numbers down. the second part is the same as the first one, only on the b-string and one fret higher.

the second thing was that riff at the beginning and in the end. there i just watched the fingers and wrote the frets down.

You can always stop the video and count the frets for each finger-placement.

its just as easy as that.
