@maddhattertime stephen was given that ipad for free.. and he's said himself (when he was out of character on a television show i can't remember the name of which he was getting interviewed on) that he doesn't really keep all of the money from his super pac, he said he gives a certain percentage annually to a charity he supports (the name of which i also can't remember if you are bothered enough to look it up you will find out) and other parts he doesn't keep the money for himself actually.

The iPad needs a lot of upgrades. It will be successful but, personally, it is missing a iSight, a Camera (in the back as well), multitasking, no sd slot, no Flash support (WTF), no 1080 Playback, no full GPS, No native widescreen, so for me no thanks for ver. 1.0. But, to be fair if I were a student it beats carrying 30lbs of of books or having a Kindle. By ver. 2 or 3 it will probably dominate Amazon.

@Warsong27: There are various reason for FLASH not being supported, one is that Flash is the main source of crash on Apple operating system. Also due to frame by frame nature of Flash, badly written Flash code will eat up your battery within an hour or so! Solution would be HTML5, try Youtube labs for more information on this. Sadly HTML5 will not be mainstream for another two years. So those who use websites with heavy Flash usage should stay away from Apple I am afraid.

Most definitely Flash is an issue and unfortunately, I don't see Silverlight filling that gap either. HTML5 is going to be a while off and the fact that Apple is not happy with Google does not make things any better although I have heard some rumblings that Microsoft and Apple are talking much more since Google is now their common enemy. I can only foresee that that public will benefit these talks between the two giants.
