  • The name's horrible, I prefer Tin tower

  • When I was your age, we had the Tin Tower. And it was the shit.

  • What's a "Bell" Tower?

  • @0OO8 Its a bell tower. Y'know, a bell tower. A tower. Where there's a bell. :I

  • @RichieTheTotodile ....well played.

  • Mispelt "Tin".

  • @reshikrom64 In HearGold and SoulSilver they fixed the naming error.

  • @Magiphart I know. I just dislike the fact that they changed the name.

  • all this needs now is a: KEEEYOOOO. from okami/okamiden to be better

  • Comment removed

  • Thumbs up if you managed to catch Ho-Oh! :3

  • I absolutely LOVE the instruments in this version. It's beautiful... Now I want to go start a new game on HeartGold..

  • This music makes me wanna watch Kung Fu Panda

  • this is so epic

  • Prefer the old version

  • Do NOT enter with Totodile.

  • @terraflyer23 No enter with totodile, yes enter with feraligart

  • @ABCMurshomkingdom Aye sir.

  • Why am i sensing a similarity to the Stone Tower Temple theme....

  • Ehh. I don't like this. AND IT'S TIN TOWER. Not bell tower, you stupid game freak asses.

  • @SabakuNoAmber121212

    Both are correct.

According to Wikipedia: "Suzu is also an uncommon female name in Japan meaning 'Bell' or 'Tin'."

  • I like the older version(gold, silver, crystal) better.

  • Burned Tower + Bell Tower + Sprout Tower = Burned Bellsprout

  • Its a very big bell tower in the game

  • @9Dany9 Mainly Blue was just updated Pokemon spritesm which were carried over to international launch. Yellow had better updated sprites, entirely different strategies were needed in the beginning (as your starter didn't help at all with Brock), and the story was *slightly* changed (Pikachu as the starter, Jessie and James *kind of* following you, etc). IMO, it was a 3rd version, but it's still debatable.

Either way, they don't remake 3rd versions (no WaterBlue/ LightningYellow for GBA)

  • The original sounds better.

  • i feel that in the original they put lots of more time into the music and in this remake they got lazy,.... by the way where the fuck is the crystal remake( seems like they for got about that one)

  • @1qrobin They don't remake 3rd Versions. They didn't remake Yellow for the GBA.

  • @PropellerYoshi1808 blue and yellow make green thats why theres fire red and leaf green

  • @wastedshark11

What the hell are you talking about? It's called FireRed and LeafGreen because Red and Green were the very first Pokemon games released. It's not because Blue + Yellow = Green. >.>

  • @PropellerYoshi1808 But they always remake the three except for the 1 that was released a year later.... does that mean there will be a FireRuby and WaterSapphire edition coming out soon?

  • @1qrobin I feel that way too. But no, remakes usually don't get a third game traditionally.

  • @1qrobin Heart Gold and Soul Silver are remakes of Crystal, as Crystal was itself a remake of Gold and Silver. The point of a third game is to make improvements on the initial duo, as well as to add some new plot. It is simply a case of improvements stacking onto one another. Since there's no time (or need or desire) for an improved version of HGSS, there's no "Mind Crystal" version.

  • @00411392 your username is a phone number in america i called it and it was my mom overseas thx :)

  • Why is it called the Bell tower now"?

  • @partycakeboy92 The Japanese name uses the word Suzu, which can mean either Tin, or Bell. They changed it in HGSS since it was most likely meant to be translated as Bell, since it's a Tower with Bells, not tin.

  • @CyberNecrovalley true but it could be a reference to the fact the burned tower was originally Brass tower before it burned down

  • @dragon5521 But that`s not what I meant (laughs) I know that from the game`s name Tin Tower may be related to the Golden Pavilion..... But if you look closely the history of the burned tower looks more like the history of the Golden pavilion! Plus The burned tower was golden in the past :)

  • @hector4drake I was confused too! I always thought Tin tower = Golden pavilion too (laughs) Which makes sense too

  • @hector4drake and that is true, the golden pavilion DID burn down in the past, so the brass tower is probably more related to the golden pavilion if you look at the whole thing overall. but like i said, i grew up playing gold so i naturally associate the tin tower with the golden pavilion due to the ho-oh

  • @dragon5521 Another I think is very strange and coincidental is the Bell/Tin tower name :) The japanese name can mean bell or tin, but for some strange reason Tin is a silver colored metal! So both names can be used :) I think the translators were lucky!!

  • Theres nothing with appreciating other culture, I mean asian countries enjoy western culture too. Do you think thats wrong?

  • if 4Kids died a World would be happy

  • what is the name of the song that comes on when ho oh appears (before you battle him) when the kimono girls start summoning it

  • this is the best area music to me

  • i don't care what they call it, it'll always be the Tin Tower to me :)

  • @ultranovajoe Ho-oH tower

  • @ultranovajoe Me too Bell Tower change from Tin Tower

  • The Bell Tower is a reference to Kinkaku-ji.

The song used is likely an arranged version of Sakura Sakura.

  • Oh God, I love the Japanese version of this!

  • Johto is completely based on traditional Japanese culture. The Bell Tower is said to be based on some pagoda.

  • @joe9320 wow

  • @joe9320 We need Godzilla to knock it down.

  • NEVER go to the end of Bell tower.

  • I think Tin Tower was fitting g/s/c but not hg/ss because you can actually that it's made of wood. With the gameboy, it could have been made out of anything. When I was little, I use to think the tower was falling apart and Ho-oh was the only way out. They should have made it a tin tower, that would ahve looked amazing.

  • @gohanluigi123 They only kept some, and as time went on they replaced more and more.

  • And that is why my favorite instrument is the shamisen.

  • You have to be honest, this is ten times better than that crappy cave music that plays in the Whirl Islands.

  • @krapabble LOL, true they should of done a little more effort on lugias part

  • I refuse to call it Bell Tower.

It is Tin Tower, whether Gamefreak wishes to acknowledge this or not.

  • @EnkerZero

    YEAH!

  • @EnkerZero

YES! I was really pissed to hear that they changed it in HGSS. fff I refuse to accept it as the Bell Tower >.>

  • @EnkerZero It's only Tin Tower because of a translation error. Try again.

  • * Komono Girls randomly dance*

    Me: O_O

  • bell tower + sprout tower = bellsprout tower?

  • @Ricostron Burned tower + bell tower + sprout tower = burned bellsprout :3

    go cyndaquil...

  • @Ricostron Sprout + Bell + Burned = Burned Bell Sprout lmao

  • @Ricostron Burned BellSprout tower. its what you get when you mix burned tower, bell tower and sprout tower and add an entei

  • but i think the real name was Tin tower

  • one of my favorites in the game

  • the battle music even has the japanese instruments in one part of the song, i think

  • @steelcity51 All sounds are modified through computers, in... 108 bits, if I got it right.

  • I've always found this funny, that the two first regions are finnish words :D

Kanto means the root of a tree and Johto means lead, like if youre leading in a contest :D

  • @m1el1puol1m1es What about Hoenn? Sinnoh? Isshu?

  • @cgsilverscreen2020

Nah, in Finnish language, they're just gibberish.

  • @cgsilverscreen2020 u mean unova because that is the name for Isshu

  • The Tin Tower music was one of my favourites back in G/S. Now it's one of my favourites in HG/SS. I like how they added a traditional Japanese theme, as if reminding us that the Bell Tower is in Ecruteak City. As a sidenote, I find it weird that the stunningly beautiful path to the Bell Tower has no music at all.

  • Me and my friend both went on Soulsilver at the same time and I entered Tin tower a second after he did. The layered music sounded really cool. My favourite background music as well as his.

  • I've just realised that the name was changed, understandable but unnecessary too. TIN tower went well with BRASS tower.

  • @TheBaconToastie

I agree it's rather stupid, especially since they're both bell towers. I guess they thought the current generation of gamers would be too stupid to realize that tin (and brass) referred to the bells on top of the towers rather than the towers themselves.

  • I hate that the name was changed to Bell Tower it sounds stupid. I liked Tin Tower.

  • @doughnutser256 no it makes sence because theres Bells on the top of the

tower i think tin tower sounds stupid kind of

  • @ITPictures98 The reason why they changed it is because they altered the story of the tower and added the bells. Did you even play the original games? The original name was Tin Tower and the bells were not in the original games.

  • @doughnutser256 The bells were mentioned in the original games, actually. The games have a new translation team and they decided to more literally translate the name of the Bell Tower. The Japanese name could mean Bell or Tin, but in this case it meant "Bell", so they merely corrected the mistake made in the original game.

  • @SmashingExpress Really? I will have to look into that sometime. However you make a good point to a conversation or argument over the tower's name. I also agree with TheBaconToastie about it being the Brass Tower too because the outside of the tower did have a brass-like finish to it.

  • The nationalism always intrigues me... the mandolins always bring me to tears...

  • TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN TIN ... actually no wait its Bell now...

  • @TaylorSwiftloveman47 Some people want to download the music,of course

  • I once used a AR to walk through walls on my SS version. I went to the top and what did I find? Diddly squat. And then my game froze. It's my fault for cheating, I suppose...

  • @TotodileFan2009 you need the Clear Bell and the Kimono girls to summon Ho-oh

  • @hjt091 I know a way to fix that! Maybe I can bribe the glassmaker from Hoenn to make me one? And substitute dolls for the Kimono girls. Hmm... This plan is fiendish... But good!

  • This one sounds much more............. well, Japanese than the original! :P

  • Since the Tin Tower is now called the Bell Tower there is Bell tower and Sprout tower.

    Get it Bellsprout

  • @conzoman98

there is also a burned tower so...

    BURNED BELLSPROUT!

It was only a matter of time....

  • @charmander1065 LOL

    Burned Bellsprout

  • @conzoman98 lol

  • @charmander1065 Interesting way of connecting the three towers names into a pun title.

  • "So if I.... fuck wrong ledge.... go up this lad....fuck! wrong ladder!"

  • Me: Okay so this was where I had to meet those kimono girls? *goes into the tin tower* wow it's quite a place huh Cyndaquil?

  • i remember when i went to the golden pavilion in kyoto and i looked at it and was like " Hmm this looks oddly familia-OMG ITS THE TIN TOWER, it even has a Ho-oH on top!" XD

  • @dragon5521 come to mention it, the places in the pokemon games are based off real buildings, landmarks and even regions in japan(don't believe me? look at the sinnoh region, then look at Japan's northern island called hokkaido, freaky, isin't it?)

  • @AztecJester280 yeah

  • @AztecJester280 And Hoenn is Kyushu , Johto is the Kansai region and Kanto as the name says refers to the Kantō region

  • @dragon5521 But the Golgen Pavilion is actually the Brass tower(Burned tower) right? Tin tower(Bell tower) is The Silver Pavilion

  • Comment removed

  • @hector4drake thats debatable i think, but regardless, they emulated the silver pavillion after the golden pavilion so it is essentially the same, just as the Brass and Tin towers were exactly the same(until Brass burned down).

  • @hector4drake i grew up playing gold so i always associated Ho-oh with Tin tower, and seeing as the golden pavilion had a golden phoenix on top, i kind of associate it with Ho-oh too

  • now its called bell tower not tin tower anymore

  • bell tower is different man.

  • Boxingame is correct in HG/SS Tin tower has been renamed Bell Tower and the path outside Bellchime path. In my opinion Bell tower fits more as a Japanese pagoda is not made out of tin.

  • this sounds like something naruto should hav but its good

  • Leo Burnett and 4kids are the devil.

  • lol at subliminal

  • @Superduperpeoples

your thumbs down made me sad because nobody got the inside joke mister.

    LOL ANYWAYS

  • @dohead

    wtf are you talking about

  • @Superduperpeoples 4Kids > New TPCI cast. the new cast is gay. seasons 1-8 cast are ftw.

  • I called this theme "Ho-Oh's Theme" when I was, like, 8.

  • i dont want to join this (oddly in-depth) argument, but for the record, without terrible dubbs, rediculous food swaps, stupid puns, or other

4kids staples, pokemon would not be a part of my childhood. So if a riceball becomes a sandwich to americanize the show, then let it be praised.

HALLELUJAH 4KIDS BE PRAISED!!! WHOAH LORDY!

...Sonic X was a shame though lol

  • you mean jelly donut?

  • @TheGodofWaffles yea that lol.

  • @Rawrtard25 if 4kids hadnt dubbd pokemon, another BETTER company woulda done it, idiot

  • @taijutsugal Maybe, maybe not.

  • @inamerica55585 more likely. something like funimation. pokemon woulda been part of us no matter what.

  • @taijutsugal and if funimation did it, it would be "better"?

  • @inamerica55585 probably. 4kids changed the music, names, and some storyline of pokemon, funimation doesnt do that, tho

  • @inamerica55585 yes, 4kids did terrible dubbing on everything

  • @taijutsugal Well, Pokemon wasn't a complete disaster. It's only thing they did a decent job on. Still taking out certain episodes like the one where Ash gets all those Tarous was really stupid. They took it out because they were firing guns? Meanwhile, Cartoon Network is showing Tom and Jerry and Looney Tunes.

Bottom line, 4kids didn't do too back on Pokemon... but screwed up practically everything else.

  • @00411392 True. I heard it was their first anime dub. So, along with the fact that they did a better job earlier on, probably means that somthing happened to the dubbers....making them...fail. xD

  • @Rawrtard25 Kirby wasnt!

  • @Rawrtard25 I actually liked sonic X :3

  • @Rawrtard25 Yeah I grew up with 4kids one piece too

  • wow dudes i think you 2 need to shut the fuck up and listen to the theme..

i personally like this theme more than the old 1..

  • Can't we just enjoy this song without people arguing?

  • @CherryLugia300

Good point, I'm done arguing =P

  • What if they do like it though? I'm just throwing possibilities now. It can't always be the case as you state...not all are as you say...

  • @uirukun

Well yeah, of course that isn't always the case. Sorry if it seemed like I was saying that,

I know not everyone who likes japan is like that,

  • I have a feeling the people commenting here are the kind of people who are like "Hey guys! I like japan better and hate 4kids! Am I cool yet?!"

  • Wow is that how you really see those people? You really think that people act like that just to be cool? That's pretty low dude. Just because someone's different from you doesn't give you the right to talk crap about them.

  • @uirukun

I know A LOT of people like that and it pisses me off. People think japan is the superior culture without knowing anything about japan and they learn broken japanese from anime and think its ok to speak it in public like their fluent or something. I don't give a fuck if someone's different, I give a fuck when people think its cool to obsess over a culture they know nothing about and then complain about a company because they rightfully made an anime more appealing to western audiences.

  • Why would you get pissed off at them? It's their business not yours! And what if they prefer that culture over America's? Plus there is a lot of Japanese culture in anime. The exact same way there is a lot of American culture in American cartoons

  • Well thats cool if people like a culture more than their own, but a lot of this whole japan obsession is just teen angst/teens trying to be different. You even brought up the whole "just because the person is different" thing when I didn't even say I minded that they were different, which I don't. You can't say you haven't also seen people falsely obsess over japan just because its japan. And it becomes my business when people bitch about "rice balls being changed" just because they are obsessed.

  • You wouldn't be saying that if you saw the episode where they replaced a giant riceball that falls down a hill.... with a sub sandwich. Let's just say that the way in which it fell was a major failure in the physics department.

  • @MANJYOMETHUNDER111

And that just added some humor to the episode, it wasn't really a big deal at all. It was ONE episode that had no significance to the story and everyone freaks out about it.

  • Yeah, you seem to think that your opinions are fact. Sorry to say they aren't. I thought the sandwhich was stupid, as are most of 4kids' dubs. And you're stereotyping most of the people at these cons.

  • @MANJYOMETHUNDER111

Truth be told I knew about half the people at that kon, and sorry if it seems like I'm being egotistical, but there ARE a lot of people who like japan just 'cause its japan. And there is seriously no freakin need to go all OCD over a rice ball that was edited into a sandwich.

  • It was more that the sandwich was the epitome of all of the unecessary edits to the show. Pokemon is originally Japanese, and editing out these parts to 'Americanize' the show is completely unecessary.

  • @MANJYOMETHUNDER111

I can see your point, but without making the show appeal to western audiences, especially children, most animes would have remained mediocre shows in western countries, appealing to a very small audience. And this anime subculture in america wouldn't have ever even existed.

  • The sub culture exists now even without cultural edits (and rages over them),and that's the way I like it.

  • This is the most prejudice viewpoint I have ever read.

  • @MANJYOMETHUNDER111

No, its not really. As I said, I know A LOT of people like that. Hell, I used to be like that. Have you ever been to an anime convention? I went to one just yesterday and there were TONS of people like that. They are milking this japan craze for all its worth too, it was 30$ to get in.

  • Comment removed

  • awesome

  • I would have been so pissed off if they fucked up this theme, it was my favorite out of the soundtrack.

  • Franklin0611 don't give them the idea =P

  • American Kirby Is Hardcore! :O

  • Look 4kids, Japanese reference! Do your magic and replace the nice Japanese music with American Rock music! So glad they don't translate games.

  • Nothing like a jelly-filled DONUT!

  • @Franklin0611 replacing the music is great in stuff like dragon ball z but 4 kids uses shitty music.

  • @Franklin0611 now that i think about it,im suprized they didnt make the Bell Tower the fucking Statue of Liberty in the anime (un)

  • same here

  • reminds me of a japanese dojo

  • Good. Because Johto, and Ecruteak especially, is modeled after the traditional Japanese.

  • Which 4Kids despises of.

  • IT"S NOT A DONUT OR A SANDWICH!!!! IT'S A MOTHER EFFING RICEBALL!!!! IT's A BALL OF RICE SHAPED LIKE A TRIANGLE WITH SEAWEED ON THE BOTTOM GET YOUR FOoDS RIGHT 4 KIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!! T_T *cry cry*

  • Comment removed

  • @goomboss01

I completely agree with you. These crazy wapanese kids gave you seven thumbs downs. If doesn't fucking matter if they changed a rice ball to a donut, they made it more reconizable to western audiences, right? Not everyone like japanese food JUST because its japanese.
