Can anyone give me a compelling reason why this is better or even complementary to a laptop with DAW software, VSTs, and a decent MIDI keyboard? Isn't this just catering to people who refuse to finally change over to a computer?
What a strange looking keyboard. Every product I ever purchased from Alesis broke within 3 years. They sure are not a quality company but they do have great ideas for musical instruments. Too bad.
whats up with all of these kids boasting as to how good they are compared to this guy? its only a demo i though, i figured this vid only had to do with some of the sounds and capabilities this board has? or am i wrong?
as for the children...there's is always someone out there better than yourself ;)
That's one thing that Alesis never got right. I used to sell their gear in the early 90's. My first complaint was about the keyboard/bed on the Quadrasynth. You have to (as a company) understand how tactile feel affects the musician. If you're keyboard feels cheap, it's doubtful you're going to feel inspired. The smart move would have been to create a rack version of this unit.
I had one for a while (6HD). I never really felt "safe" with it. Always had the feeling something was going to break. Can't explain it really...Nice sounds though.
this is what happens when america tries to make a workstation. leave the hardware workstation to the japanese...atleast germans know this fact and only make software workstations like kontakt.
Alesis Fusion was a "Failure"... Thin sounds, VERY poor and buggy OS, terrible quality control problems, 61 key model has inconsistent velocity between white and black keys... Just a really bad synth-I used to own one (used to)
There's something suspiciously thin sounding about this synth....you could do just as well with the mom's home computer, some free vst plugins and or Reason 3, and some controller synth....maybe get more bang for your buck.
No clue here. I don't own one of these, I've just sampled it. But the thing does have a USB port. So I'm assuming there's some way you can hook it up to your computer and have it displayed on the moniter somehow.
or a video output? ....... to feed to that screen? obviously
whats with hating this synth? just cause it looks like some cheap home keyboard which seriously put me off even considering investigating it.. but i dunno, is it REALLY that terrible? ..
The synth is amazing. The guy's just not doing a good job showing what it's capable up. Go to the Alesis site for samples of the thing. It's truely amazing.
Very good SPACE 1999 THEME!!!

I like the VA sound of Fusion. It's sharp and drilling, but cool. It's similar to Ion and Micron sound.

Nope, just look behind the screen, there's a sliver, flat cable going to a hole in the desk.. It's a custom modification, no doubt.
This synth sucks big time, BTW... not to comment this "artist"...

There is a 'compact flash' slot on the rear of the Fusion.
