Reading Feeds with Google Reader

Why is it that when I use Google for podcast feeds, it actually downloads the podcasts automatically? There are no settings to turn it off, it just downloads the podcasts into a folder it creates on my hard drive which is named after the podcast feed. I keep deleting this folder and its contents but it keeps coming back, and Google Reader is the only one I use. I didn't know it did this, and it's annoying.

Umm, whats the centre frame that is turning into the thumnail? Just embedded it on my blog and it has me and some of my class wondering.
